joined a lalaloopsy buy/sell/trade group on facebook in hopes of finding people more local to myself that i could potentially buy from..

it's full of people selling at scalpers prices & other people encouraging it because a majority of them dont know how much to sell for. i am so sick of this 🫩

we need to stop calling lalaloopsy dolls rare so that scalpers can't get away with overpricing 'rArE' dolls that influence how much other people charge

i am NAWT spending over $60 on ONE doll.

i did spot a few people in a couple posts telling the ops that the prices they are asking for were kinda crazy, but they usually went ignored :/

a majority of the people also seemed to be from the us and im canadian, so the cost is more after the fact & also not even local anyways. but my point still stands

i used to be a monster high & lalaloopsy boy as a kid, like i was OBSESSED with both. however, i ended up with 0 lalaloopsy dolls as an adult (until like the end of last year when i started thrifting some), and i have a whole shit load of gen 1 mh dolls & even a lot of gen 3 dolls which most are still in box for gen 3

now. here's my dilemma.

my mh dolls that are in boxes, stay in a bag in my closet. my mh dolls out of box (besides my draculauras & my newest invisi billy) stay in a bag in my closet.

so they dont get seen a lot anyways

my lalaloopsy dolls on the other hand, i do try to display them or have them out in general just because (rn they are in a drawer because im moving soon so im putting things away/packing)

now. would it make sense to make a post on some socials for trading? like i provide mh dolls & get lalaloopsy dolls in return?? ive never done trading shit before, so i genuinely just wanna ask people lmao
