Oh cool! Not a huge AP fan but I liked LABN so maybe this'll be fun
Haha "warhammer D&D" clearly the author isn't very familiar with the ttrpg scene, since they are playing 40k this is clearly a game of Dark Heresy etc. or maybe that new D6 one
Oh... oh NO
OH NO
Set the fuckin building on fire
Fucking hell. They already have 40k rpgs. Theres several of them and they are actually pretty good at what they set out to do!
why is this any of anyone's business tho lol. i dont know who these people are and i would never watch something like that anyway but cant they do whatever the hell they want? why do you care lmao
These things don't exist in a vacuum. People who are genuinely into tabletop RPGs as a hobby will understandably be upset when yet another creative transformative work decides to use D&D 5e especially when game systems actually based on the intellectual property they are working on already exist. It only serves to promote the idea of D&D 5e as the default which many of us in the space who are already concerned about D&D 5e's monolithic position will inevitably feel disappointed.
So in the abstract, yes, these people are allowed to do whatever they want, even though I think what they're doing is very stupid and indicative of a shallow understanding of RPGs or a low opinion of their potential audience. I don't think anyone here is arguing that the RPG police should come to their house and replace their D&D 5e books with Wrath & Glory or whatever. But people are disappointed because their choice to do this only serves to promote D&D as the default once again.
