For more context :

« La main de la justice » that Miles is holding usually is associated to royal power, an old symbol of judicial authority in France. But I thought it would make sense to use it here and link it to the corrupted system in AA, which is easily manipulated by those with enough power. The idea was to portray Phoenix as a victim of this corrupted system, that is carried out by Miles who used to blindly follow what he was taught 💔

This is an alternative version of the one I shared on IG. The scale is tipping towards « la main de la justice », I thought it kinda made sense as well hehe

which is really funny bc in Kumiko Suekane’s official art: The opposite is implied

Like why is miles always over at phoenix’s office literally just to bother him

This piece right here is quite literally about maya and miles coming over to bother phoenix when he’s working LMAOOO

Its so funny how we all expect miles to be the one working constantly, but in reality he canonically

- drops everything to help phoenix across the ocean

- dropped everything to prosecute a case phoenix was versing

- Dropped his badge to find the guy who attacked Kay Faraday

- dropped his work because there was a dead body in his office (which- yeah fair LOL)

- drops A TRIAL (for a second) to ask the steel samurai authot for an autograph

In my never ending task of playing every Ace Attorney game, I’ve fallen in love with all of the recurring gags.

My current favorite bit is in both of the Ace Attorney Investigations games. Every time you need to inspect an area up close, Edgeworth proclaims “i won't rest until i've inspected every suspicious looking nook and cranny.”

literally. every. time.

It’s to the point where both Gumshoe and Kay have started copying (mocking?) him about it

I had honestly assumed that it was one of those pompous “Von Karma- isms” that Miles had developed, but I’ve now made it to AAI2-3, where you play as Gregory. Lo and behold…

Father Edgeworth did it too!! Every time!!

It just makes me happy that Miles kept doing it, even so long after his father’s untimely demise.
