🖊 Notes from the noveling front: Happy NaNoWriMo, everybody! I hope everyone trying this crazy challenge of writing 50,000 words in 30 days is doing well. Remember to stay hydrated 💧, eat something 🍎, and get up to stretch at least once an hour 🙌🏼. --- ✍🏼️ I'm trying some new methods of writing this month. Instead of editing (the inner editor was banished back in October to make sure she actually left), I am allowing myself to go back over things I've written so far and add in more layers of description, metaphor, and meaning. Someone on the NaNo forums suggested if I feel the urge to delete stuff (yes, often) or can't decide what sounds best for a description (also often) to use brackets to list several things and then be able to choose later on during first draft editing. I love this advice because it also gives a boost to word count. Giving The Magicians by Lev Grossman another chance. Initially I loathed the main character so much (arrogant misogynistic whiner) that I put this book down for years. But I've had it recommended to me so many times... And then I watched the SyFy series - which wasn't great, but definitely entertaining - and now my curiosity has driven me back into the written world. I'm liking it better this time. 📖😌 But yeah.
