Funny story happened with this shirt actually! A couple of people commented on the front, fairly positive for Texas actually, but it was the back that sparked a debate with a male friend of mine. For context, all me and this friend do is argue. Anything is fair game though mostly, we discuss gender since we tend to be on opposite sides. Anyways, here is my dramatic reenactment of this “debate”
Male Friend: so… anti porn? Why?
Me: I mean… i’m against all sex work really but it’s just a really exploitative industry that preys on young, poor girls. And with porn, so much of what's uploaded isn’t consensual or even legal, plus there's so many cases of there being identifying information on the girls in the videos. Even if the sex IS legal and consensual, sometimes the uploading of it isn’t. Not a good industry overall, you know?
Male friend: okay but if it wasn’t exploitative, you’d like it, right?
Me: no? Men who consume porn are more likely to be sex offenders or domestic abusers. And with sex exploitation, ‘cause it’s certainly not work, you can’t buy consent.
Male Friend: Sure you can! Sleep with me for 300$ (joking, i would hope)
Me: I would honestly rather blow my brains out.
It was after this that he suggested AI porn as an ethical way out and… it really sucks because I do enjoy spending time with him but everytime i talk to him, it becomes increasingly obvious that what affects me on the day to day will never affect him. Another guy I know didn’t ask about the back but he spent all of English class looking at me weird over it. I’m not sure which interaction I enjoyed more.
Forgot where this this was from but it’s relevant.
got commissioned to draw girlsmooching of my radfem clowns so here's some of what I'm dubbing BoomSnugs 😄😆 if anyone else wants to commission their favourite clown ship I will make the one that makes me the most money canon, tournament-elimination style
instead of asking victims how they “allow” their abuse to continue, ask how we allow abuse to continue in everyday life, for example by worshipping men in spite of their abuse towards women.
EXTREMELY minor gripe, I love those radfem graphics about womanhood being separate from stereotypes and still being a woman without performing them, I really do
but it kindaaaa chafes me when those graphics are still like. aesthetically feminine.
feminist infographics if I had my way
Hell yeah
This is so much fun. Thank you OP
“Nowadays the average age for first viewing porn is just eleven years. This means that, unlike before, porn is actually being encoded into a boy’s sexual identity so that an authentic sexuality – one that develops organically out of life experiences, one’s peer group, personality traits, family and community affiliations – is replaced by a generic porn sexuality limited in creativity and lacking any sense of love, respect, or connection to another human being.” – Gail Dines
Some people say that pornography is only fantasy. The acts of violence depicted in pornography are real acts committed against real women and real female children. The fantasy is that women want to be abused.
