ā¦is it a hot take to say I donāt think All for the Game should be classified as YA?? Please share thoughts and opinions, this is a genuine question
Who the hell said aftg is YA? I'm being so serious. There is graphic torture, rape, abuse, and SO MANY OTHER THINGS. It's not YA, it's intended audience is adults.
I know the fandom is full of teenagers, I myself will be one to admit I read it too young. I read it at 15, it was truly a horrifying experience. It's my favorite series no doubt, but it's in no way made to fit in the YA classification.
But hey, what do I know anyway.
This is what Iām saying!!! Like so much of it goes so beyond what people imagine as āYAā and I agree it mostly gets classified under that because of the age of the fan base generally. I also probably read it too young but no way should it be called YA
Not to mention the fact that people probably classify it as YA because itās self-published and there isnāt a more strict traditional publishing label thatās been applied already but letās be real, if the series was picked up tomorrow by a Big 5 publisher itād be put out as āadult dark romanceā (which is a whole other can of worms letās be real) and definitely not YA
idk Iāve seen a lot of people throwing it around recently which has left a bad taste in my mouth
