hello! :D thank you so much for your blog and all the useful tips :))) just wanted some encouragement/advice about how to deal with guilt if i've done something wrong? Like I made an impulsive decision to do something out of curiosity and I ended up being scolded and inconveniencing a lot of people :((
Thanks for asking! I think guilt is something relevant to all procrastinators, particularly many members of the studyblr community, as well as those overworkers and study-aholics!
Feeling guilty about something? Procrastinating? or Overworking?
Firstly, most of the time, guilt is a natural response intended to make you reflect upon inappropriate or offensive behaviour, and compel you to amend your actions and the situation if possible. For example, feeling guilty when you sit down to watch Youtube videos when you haven’t finished that homework assignment!
Dealing with guilt means making amends:
accepting that you did the wrong thing - guilt only intensifies if you continue to deny and ignore your mistakes.
apologising to the parties involved and making amends - the sooner you apologise and fix the situation, the faster you will feel better
being diligent about not making the same mistake twice - if you do not learn from your mistakes through experiencing guilt, you are doomed to repeat history
accepting that you are only human at the end of the day - we all make mistakes, we cannot change the past, we cannot see the future but can we try to make the best of it; what’s important is that we try to improve.
If you find that even by making amends and apologising you still feel guilty, consider that it’s unhealthy guilt. Unhealthy guilt occurs when it becomes obsessive, immobilising you from being productive. You need to recognise when you aren’t feeling guilty for a legitimate reason. You should not feel guilty when you are not at fault, when something was inevitable or when you are the victim.
Hope that helps! ^__^
I just wanna sleep for 2 years

Good to know tho
We’ve both got a million bad habits to kick, not sleeping is one. We’re biting our nails, you’re biting my lip, I’m biting my tongue.
sometimes u just have to say ‘tragic’ and move on
Motivation for "Harvard students" or all students basically
1. If you fall asleep now, you will dream. If you study now, you will live your dream.
2. When you think it’s too late, the truth is, it’s still early.
3. The pain of studying is only temporary. But the pain of not knowing—ignorance—is forever.
4. Studying is not about time. It’s about effort.
5. Life is not all about studying. But if you can’t even conquer this little part of life, then what else can you possibly do?
6. Enjoy the inexorable pain.
7. It’s those who are earlier than the others, those who put in more effort, who can enjoy the feelings of success.
8. Not everyone can truely succeed in everything. But success only comes with self-management and determination.
9. Time is flying.
10. The saliva that flow now will become the tears of tomorrow.
11. Dogs are learning, ambassadors are playing.
12. If you don’t walk today, you’ll have to run tomorrow.
13. People who invest in the future are realists.
14. The level of education is in direct correlation with your salary.
15. When today is over, it will never come back.
many of these are anxiety-inducing and encouraging self-destructive habits????
“people who invest in the future are realists” are you saying that i should forget about enjoying the moment i am in only focus on the future which i can’t enjoy since i have to invest in the upcoming future in my life??? no thank you
“the level of education is in direct correlation with your salary” what a primitive way of thinking i have to say. how come i know many people with almost no education at all have high salaries? the level of education isn’t a guarantee of a specific type of salary??
“enjoy the inexorable pain” what the actual fuck
“when today is over, it will never come back” what a nice way guilt trip people. both able and diabled ones
i could write an essay on how awful some of these are(not all though) but i’m just going to leave it like this
can i also add about the first one? if you really need to sleep, then go sleep, especially for health reasons!
how did i miss that??? but yes people S L E E P for god’s sake
