I love girls who are proud and uninhibited about their intelligence and will brag about their accomplishments and take no shit from pretentious boys who look down on women in their field. girls who are outspoken and a bit arrogant and ambitious in a world where we are told that we must hide our intellect and to always put the needs of others (i.e. men) in front of our own are amazing
Pre-Grad Bucket List
Calling all grad students!
As Iām finishing up my senior year and powering through grad apps, I realized that Iām about to have an extreme amount of down time that Iām not 100% sure what to do with. Just out of general curiosity, what are some things you think pre-grads (or even pre-professional/med/law etc.) should try to do before starting their programs? Maybe thereās something you wish you did, or something you learned in the time leading up to school that you think other students might benefit from. Iād love to get some advice/tips onĀ how to make the most of the time before diving into another round of schooling.
Eyyy congrats on finishing your senior year!
Pre-grad bucket list, imo:
Relaaaaaaaax! Indulge in your hobbies! Catch up on sleep! Travel! Hang out with friends! Etc! This may be the last breather you have before the onslaught of the firehose that is grad school.Ā
Take care of your health! Whether that be updating glass prescriptions, choosing a therapist, or getting that surgery thatās been put off for years. If you have the means to do so, getting your health up to 100% before grad school will be extremely beneficial.Ā
Get a reliable laptop. This is my one regret. I did buy a new Macbook the summer before grad school, but it immediately started having problems. I really wish I didnāt ignore it and took it in, because thereās nothing worse than working on a huuuge project and having it crash on me. Iām definitely getting a new one before I start writing my dissertation, but ugh, money wasted ya know?Ā
Do as much research as you can regarding your new city/university/program. Is there a program handbook? List of funding opportunities? Professors you may want to work with? Best place to park? Shady areas of the city to avoid? Stuff like that.Ā
If youāre moving, I suggest getting there at least a week early to unpack and get settled, because when grad school starts, you hit the ground running (and flopping). Itās just nice to have one less thing to worry about ya know?Ā
Get to know the other students in your cohort. When I started, all the students in my cohort introduced one another on an email thread, and someone even started a google page for us (does that even exist anymore?? lol obvs we stopped using it, but it was still nice). Also a great way to meet potential roommates!Ā
Donate/toss out unnecessary STUFF. Those notebooks from high school algebra? Youāre probably never gonna look through them ever again. That shirt you havenāt worn in a decade? Into the goodwill pile. Not only is grad school a brand new chapter in your life, itās in many ways the launching-pad into true adulthood for some people, so itās nice to start as fresh as possible.Ā
Sit down with the people close to you and discuss how the busy demands of grad school could affect your relationships, and then determine compromises.Ā You may have to explain to your significant other that you may not be around as much, but youāll also set aside one evening per week as a designatedĀ ādate-nightā. Maybe you canāt call your parents as often as you do now, so if they want to talk to you, maybe first send a text to see if youāre free to talk. Things like that. And these compromises may have to evolve and change as you go through your own unique grad school experience.Ā
Whoo ok. Well, I started with 3 things and then it just kinda mutated. Anyway, hope that helps! Good luck on those apps! I hope you get into your dream program :)

horrendous lighting but amazing work session in the library today~~ finished two assignments and rewrote some linguistics notes, iāve been in a funk over these college applications so today felt really good!!
Had a weird teary moment today because I love the library and I love books and life feels so fast and all over the place and everything is out of my control, which is a good thing really but itās hard to see that right now. Then I remembered that control doesnāt really exist so, whatever
this is so gorgeousš

How I: Make Revision Notes
Hello everyone! I hope youāre having a productive day.Ā
I decided to remake a post about how I make revision notes. Whatās different about this one? Well, itās a lot more detailed! Iām really sorry that the font is so small but I needed to fit the information onto the picture (if you click on the post, the font looks larger) If you guys have any questions or suggestions, please feel free to message me!Ā
a small guide on how i battle my essays! (click on an image to view it clearer)Ā
(keep in mind: iām an english major so a majority of my essays are literature-focused!)
these are just some of the methods i want to share that work for me when i write my innumerable amount of essays! iām definitely a huge planner so itās no secret that i spend a lot of time on an essay. if youāre a deadline fighter, these tips might not necessarily be helpful (especially the handwriting one). but i hope this gives you an insight on how i write my essays! š

2016 Planner Printables
Hi! The New Year is approaching rapidly, so Iāve been thinking a lot about planning, and what method Iām going to try next month⦠The beggining of a new year after all!! (for us planning freaks, this is a really big deal)
Iāve gathered a bunch of material that I found all around, from different websites and blogs of talented people, that definitely inspired me to make my own planner.
Nothing in here is mine. Iāve linked directly to the file in question so this is a whole lot faster for both you and me, so Iām writing the author next to it. If you, reading this, are the author of one of the files, and want me to take it down or feel uncomfortable with this, then please inform me, I will do so!
Ā And donāt forget these printables are for personal use only.
