My portrayal is canon-divergent and headcanon influenced

I'll do my best to stay close to canon, but this blog is an attempt to write a character that is not my favorite to branch out a little.

I am mobile bound most of the time and my activity will fluctuate

I work all Monday through Friday, and my activity will likely be higher during the weekend.

Replies will be queued to keep my activity up while I am not here.

I prefer short, sweet threads. Longer threads can happen, but I will likely take more time to reply to them.

Due to my tendency to write more than I can reply to, I am going to try and limit my threads so you don't have to wait around for me.

Hi, everyone! Sorry for being so quiet over here, but I started writing another character on my multimuse, and I'm having a lot of fun. I will be here to finish my drafts this weekend. Thank you for your patience!

She told herself she wouldn't lose another friend, but as she holds the gem to her chest and sobs, she knows she had.

And then a strange feeling starts to overtake her, like the crashing of waves is quieted to a gentle hum. She feels... at peace... as her features start to become jagged and unrecognizable.

Oh GOD. She barely recovers from being called pretty when Spinel gets shattered right in front of her.

"H-hey! That was my friend! You can't do that!"

The sound of someone knocking on her door stirred her out of her slumber, opening her eyes as she heard someone's voice in the back of her mind.

It took her a few seconds to fully register what had just happened, but once she realized someone was calling for her, she quickly got out of bed― jogging to the door to open it just enough so she could be visible from the outside.

* Y-Yes?...Oh! Ragatha, hi! Is...something the matter?...

Clearly, she hadn't realized just how long she'd been asleep for.

"Well, I'll leave you to it, I guess."

She'd got as far as turning and taking a few steps when the door opens. Her brow creased with worry, turning to relief when she realizes that her friend is okay.

"Oh! No, I... I mean it's been a little while since anyone saw you, and you missed a pretty fun adventure yesterday, so I figured I'd come and make sure you're okay!" She smiles, offering Star a thumbs up, and then tilts her head.

"But if you want to go back to sleep, I won't bother you anymore."

Oops. Look like she took a little too long to answer, she had almost left when she opened the door! Star didn't miss the relief in her eyes when she finally saw her face, listening to her speak as her brows furrowed to show an expression of slight guilt.

* O-Oh! Well, that's sweet of you Ragatha, thank you...I...guess I was asleep for longer than I thought, huh?

An embarrassed little chuckle left her, the rose on her cheeks darkening slightly. She shook her head at her last words however, fully leaving her room and closing the door behind her.

* No, I think I slept enough...I'll uh...hang out with you guys, I guess. If Jax isn't pissed at the mere sight of me, at least.

She mumbled out with one of her brows twitching, leaving a little sigh before she shook her head as to shake the thought away.

* Sorry I worried you...um. What did I miss that was so fun yesterday?...

"Ah, don't mention it! I know it's been a rough couple of days, so it makes sense that you'd be pretty tired!" That last adventure had them running from sentient cutlery; she'd barely managed to make it out before a fork pinned her down! It was.... probably a lot for a newcomer.

"You can come with me if you want to. I was just about to change and make my way down to the beach with everyone else. I think Caine cooked up a new waterslide for us?" At least, that's what he said he was doing. But who knows with Caine.

She motions for Star to follow her as she turns and starts down the hallway. "Oh! Well, it was sort of a collaborative effort. We had to work together to complete this puzzle while solving mysteries, and the room was slowly closing in on us, and..." she trails off, "I think you would have been a great help." Another moment of silence, before she quickly adds, "b-but that's okay! There will be more like it, I'm sure!"

She's been in a stalemate with the centipede on her floor for what feels like hours, too scared to move.

Never mind the way she just , nudges it with the hem of her boot . Watching it squirm as if irritated by the massive giant disturbing it's space .

" Want me to put it out of it's misery ? "

Oh, she hates the way it moves, visibly tensing up and keeping her distance.

It wasn't like it was hurting anyone with its existence, but everything screamed that if it wasn't dealt with now, it'd eventually find its way back in here, and she didn't think she had the heart to go through this again.

"Yes," she whispers, "p-please... just... just get it out of here...."

"Ragatha?" The mouse looked her up and down, immediately making the connection between her name and appearance. "Oh, like rag and Agatha! That's clever!" She looked at the other players. She didn't know them yet, but she could tell there was something..off. Especially the other jester. She looked like she had seen been through a lot. Poppy grimaced

"I imagine me being there now doesn't help things. Sorry about that" As if getting stuck there was a conscious choice. Poppy tried not to think too much about what that entailed. Right now, she was still in blissful ignorance. The realisation and dread could wait until later.

"I'd love if you showed me around, thanks for suggesting that"

"Yep, that's me!" She gave Poppy a thumbs up and a grin, her voice dripping with the same sweetness she offered every newcomer; a hand to guide, a friend to keep, even if the rest of them shied away after lifting the veil. Not that she'd let that deter her! She swung and she missed a few times, that just meant she wasn't trying hard enough.

Her gaze follows Poppy to the milling circus members, head tilting to the side as her smile falters once she finds.... Pomni, who has resigned herself to staring at the floor, hugging rubber hose arms around her body. She'd have to check in later once the two of them had a second.

"O-oh! That's not your fault! It's not like you planned on dropping in right when... all that happened..." she trails off, laughing as she rubbed the back of her neck. Maybe bringing it up right now wasn't the best idea.

"A-anyway! Let's get this tour on the road!" She waves for Poppy to follow her as she walks off, away from the rest of the group.

"Why don't I show you around outside first? It really is quite lovely out there; the weather is always nice, and there's a beach and a theme park!"

In an effort to feel more like herself, Ragatha has taken to embroidery on the hems of her dress; just little, personal touches and stylish flairs like she did back home. If she had jeans, she'd embroider little hearts on the butt pockets!

At least they can agree on one thing.

Drugs had never been his thing. Not the hard stuff or the weaker stuff, what little he did manage to get a hold of in the human world. His reactions on it had always been unpredictable, but…he’d gotten desperate enough to try it one more time. Anything to take him away from reality crashing around him.

But when Jax expected to be floating, or goofy from the stupid sauce, he found only the pit of despair through some haziness and vertigo, where he lay upside down on the couch. And then he saw her. “Rags….dolly. Rag dolly? …Ohhh that’s why you’re Ragatha,” he started, like he’d come to some earth shattering realization. “You’re a rag doll…”

“That’s wild….did you know that?”

His flopped form strangely tries to inch closer rather than away. Perhaps inebriated he’s more inclined for company… Maybe a part of him is afraid to go through it alone.

”I wanted the sauce to hit harder so I slurped it. ….Tastes like strawberry mayonaise.” That sounded like the worst flavor combination in the world. “It was so gross Rags…”

Oh. Yeah, this was happening. She fights the urge to move as though this is all part of a sick prank and she was falling right for it hook line and sinker, but the prank never comes. She forces herself to relax, not be so visibly tense, stuck between how strange this felt to see him like this and her deep-set desire to help anyway.

"O-oh God. You actually drank that stuff?"

Her inebriation had been entirely an accident, and though she she'd only gotten a little bit in her eye, it had sent her on a trip. Aside from being thoroughly unlike Jax in every conceivable way, though, he seemed fine. She looks him up and down as he tried to melt further into the couch, just to be sure.

"Where'd you even find it anyway?"

Wow, she thought to herself, feeling the ribbon wrap oh so gently around her open hand and closing it in response, had it really been this easy? Her attempts at befriending the circus members early in their arrivals had been for naught, and yet here she was, making genuine connections with people she thought totally disinterested and worlds apart from. She stands there in awe of the person before her, kicking herself for not trying harder in the first place, staring for so long that it might be considered impolite.

Her animated mouth made a small 'o' and then broadens into a smile. She couldn't fumble this opportunity now. And so they went, hand in hand, towards the shop that was conveniently always stocked with fan favorites and run by past NPCs in a cycle.

"So, what sort of soda do you like?" She asks casually as they enter the shop, their presence announced by the ring of a bell. An NPC is busy cleaning a glass with a rag, making no effort to acknowledge them.

"I know Caine can come up with some pretty wacky flavors. I wonder what they have today?"

Among the flavors on the board today is one called 'flame broiled chicken'. She grimaces at the thought of a chicken flavored float.

The one time she didn't check to make sure the place was empty . Cue her bunching up all them chest feathers to cover herself .

"W-well, you know me! I like to take a walk around the place before settling down to sleep. Just making sure everyone is doing a-okay!"

Finally, she finds the door, wasting no time turning the handle and swinging it open to find... Bubble?? Floating there with a camera perched on his head and a vacant expression???

"H-HEY! Don't film in here!" The door is slammed closed again.

Just when things couldn't get any worse .

If that film traces back to the ringmaster they'll never hear the end of it , but there's far more concerns than just being on camera -- specially now that she's stuck with only feathers for coverage .

Maybe she should've worn that gown Kinger made for her .

" Great , now what'd we do ? ? "

Arms tighten against her plumage , looking to the doll for guidance .

Oh goodness. She doesn't even know what they're filming for. She thought the Favorite Character Awards were a one-off thing, unless Bubble was just filming for fun, but somehow that's even worse.

"Okay, don't panic! Just... focus on getting covered up, and I'll go and grab that tape before anything bad happens!" She turns away again to give her privacy, opening the door just enough to peak through.

And she jumps. Why is Bubble STILL right there???

"U-uh, hey there! Any chance I could have that tape before it inevitably falls into the wrong hands?"

Bubble stares vacantly at her. Ragatha laughs nervously after a few seconds of awkward silence.

"Wh-- Caine?! What are you doing in my room?"

The horrifying realization sets in; she took her eyes off the centipede for a split second. And a split second was all it needed to COMPLETELY DISAPPEAR !

Her scream echoes throughout the circus.

🔴 Caine reappears in the room, summoned by the screaming.

🔴 "WOWZA! You've DEFINITELY got PIPES! I was originally coming in here to ask you for your opinion on something HORSE RELATED, but you were in the middle of a staring contest with a centipede. NOW THAT IT COULD BE HIDING ANYWHERE IN YOUR ROOM, let's discuss horses!"

Oh God. This can't be happening. That thing could already be burrowing into her shoes or making a nest in her bed or--

CRAWLING UP HER LEG

She swallows thickly, staring at Caine, wide-eyed and frantic as she stands perfectly still.

"C-Caine... sorry, but... c-could you... d-do me a favor? By any chance is it...." Oh God she doesn't even want to say it. His words are being drowned out by the pounding in her ears. "Is it... on me....?"
