A piece for Jon Snow, a partial heir to the kingdom. A piece for Sansa Stark and a piece for Bran Stark, he got thrown from a window and he still looks like a rockstar, and some for everybody else.

"You're a girl?!" The young eight-year-old girl asked, staring widely at the young man in a dress. He certainly made convincing lady, but the way the girl stared at him made him feel full of pride and slightly ashamed. Wiith a sweet, uncharacteristic smile, Nate kneeled down so he could speak close to the girl's ear, "No, I'm a boy, But that's ok, right? I just wanted to look as pretty as you do." The girl giggled. "Well, you are pretty." With that she ran away, a trail of giggles following her in her wake. When Nate stood up he saw her run to her father, who, with one glance in the young man's direction, shielded his daughter and turned his back. Any pride Nate had felt now deserted him.
Story Cube Writing Challenge 2 part b: A fish, a key, and a scale
"Where'd my horoscope books go?" Jennifer looked almost panicked while she searched her room, while her friend and older sister looked on in bemusement. "Maybe it floated away," Jennifer's sister, Aki said wistfully. "Don't joke! Jennifer's been waiting to share with us our horoscopes to figure out what the past year could bring to the new year! Don't you want to see?" Angela wasn't nearly as panicked as Jennifer, but she a little more grounded. Aki sighed in that way of hers. When she was biting her tongue out of the love for her sister. "Alright, alright. I think I saw it in the living room," she said and left and returned with the book in hand. "Okayyyy.... who's first?" "Me! It's my book!" Jennifer bounced in excitement. "I'm a Pisces." "Hey!" Angela cut in. "I'm a Libra. I come first in the zodiac so shouldn't I go first?" "Noooo! It's my book." "Whoa there, little day!" Aki laughed. "Chill out." She flipped open the book until she stopped on a page. "I'll read for Libra first. It says that's been brewing in your heart is just fear. You should go with your gut instinct and act and it will go your way. If you don't, it might be something you regret down the line. You're smart, beautiful, blah, blah, blah, blahhhh..." Jennifer huffed some hair out of her eyes. "Come on! Be serious. And read it right." Aki rolled her eyes. "I am. Ok. It says good luck is coming your way and you will see yourself in a new position that will secure you financially." Jennifer gasped. "I did just apply to that new Sushi place in town! And maybe I should talk to David..." "David? Your ex?" Angela asked. "Didn't you leave him?"
"Yeah, but... he was talking about going to prom with me and I was worried about getting a dress..." Self-consciously, Jennifer hugged herself. "But... he seemed really sad... I've been thinking about asking him back out, so... I think maybe.... I should go for it." "Totally!" Angela said. "Now do me next." And Aki read for Pisces and, just as with Libra, it seemed to fit Angela perfectly. Angela had been worried about her parents divorce and what would happen with her and her 9 year-old brother; the book had said though times seemed rocky, a good compromise would be reached. After the girls were finished chattering, Aki cleared her throat. "Ladies, I have a confession. I didn't read outloud the horoscopes you told me you were. I for Gemini and Leo. This stuff isn't the best thing to rely planning your life around. It's vague and will apply to nearly anyone. It would have been better if you talked to me." She set the book down and got up from the bean bag she had been sitting in. "I'm going to make us some smoothies and then we can go jogging. Just to show you your big sis is better than crapstrology any day."
Story Cube Writing Challenge 2: A fish, a key, and a scale
A fish, a key, and a scale Three words tossed from a bag At random Almost no relation Nothing to connect one to another How does one create a masterpiece from a few pieces Like a box of puzzle pieces With none that match up It's useless But someone comes along and sees such an oddity Considers it beautiful and rare But to most it's junk If this object could feel, it would feel lost Among all the puzzle boxes why is it so incomplete Why don't its pieces fit together How many times did this toy get tossed aside How dirty did it become in that time and who in their right mind would keep it? Someone wonderful But the puzzle ITS PIECES DO NOT FIT Its feelings, thoughts, and actions are disjointed and contradicting It is so dirty and frayed at the edges its pieces resemble wet paper If it gets tossed out again it might start to tear And yet should it not feel grateful to have been created? To have been made with pieces to begin with? To have bright colors on its face? THE PIECES DO NOT FIT And a web of hatred and shame is created and its stuck and though a person has taken it in and marvels at its possible beauty it feels lost among all the other complete puzzles around it A person that feels like their made of A fish, key, and a scale This was their tale.
Story Cube Writing Challenge 1: A flashlight, a castle, and a lock.
"What exactly do you mean all of the flashlights are broken," Theodore asked, with a look of annoyance that complemented his disheveled hair. My young master had clearly been showering when the power went out. I could only make this out from the dim light the candle sticks along the walls provided me. I silently thanked Theodore's father that, despite this being the modern age, he still fancied the "gothic" look of candles and said it created a more "sophisticated air" to his home. "I mean, sir, that most of their batteries are missing, or dead, and are of no use."
"Charles. You mean to tell me that throughout this large, expensive castle that we call home, you can't find one measly working flashlight?"
"Yes, sir. I've searched high and low." I bowed my head in obedience. Also seeing Theodore so annoyed made me uncomfortable.
A sigh came from his lips and he cleared his throat. "Charles, honestly... we'll figure something out. I can't let my loyal servant and friend get in trouble for not having a flashlight."
I smiled. Theodore was never in the same mood for more than a few minutes, at least around me, and I much preferred it when he thought of me fondly than not. "Thank you, sir."
"However, my friend... why, pray tell, do you need a flashlight when we have perfectly working candles right here? Are you being difficult again?"
I shook my head. "No, sir. Not at all. I just need to take care of the animals outside and in this storm a candle would be of no use to me." At eighteen years of age, Theodore was just two years older than me, but had no idea of the chores I did, for he never had to do them once in his life.
I thought I saw a tinge of red on his cheeks. "Oh. Right, of course. Well then... I don't suppose you've checked every single room?"
"There is one. Your brother's. He is away and has taken the keys to his room."
My master grinned in a mischievous manner that I had not seen in a long time and had missed dearly. "Why, if that is the only obstacle keeping us from your flashlight, then, my dear Charles, you've nothing to worry about. Follow me."
And I did as he led me through the winding hallways of the castle, of which I knew every stone, nook, and cranny. It was my home and workplace. "How do you intend to get into his room?" I asked. Theodore's elder brother Mikael was a private, somewhat paranoid man, whose room was not only secluded from the other rooms in the castle, but was also bolted shut with three locks, all with different keys.
"Simple. But you are to never repeat my actions, by mouth or by doing them. Are we clear?"
"Of course," I said eagerly.
When we reached Mikael's room, Theodore dug around in the pouch that hung around his waist, making a scrunched up face while sticking out his tongue just ever so slightly.
When he pulled his hand out, along with it was a long, thin piece of metal with a curve at the end.
I let out an involuntary gasp. "You're going to pick his locks? But... can you... can you really do that, Teddy? If you mess up..."
"Shh. It'll be fine.," Theodore said, in between a chuckle.
With that, he began to pick at the three locks and after about six minutes, he was finished, with the locks in tact.
Needless to say, I was shocked.
Theodore had the widest grin on his lips, that looked almost scary in the candle light. "Why do you think my brother got so paranoid?"
He went into the room and I followed him. We checked in the drawers, under the bed, in the closet, and then I remembered a hidden compartment where Mikael kept objects for emergencies. Surely there'd be a flashlight there.
I went to the wall beside his bed and felt along the bricks until I brushed up against the one with the widest crack. I placed the candle down and dug both sets of fingers in and grasped the brick tight and pulled. It gave way and I set it down, then quickly reached inside, blindly. After a few seconds my hand landed on a thick cylindrical handle.
I grasped the tool and stood up quickly. "Teddy! Teddy, I found it!" So excited to show him, I twisted the bottom and with a loud boom from outside, the lights shimmered on to reveal the bottom of a flashlight, but the top, instead of glass, was a rubbery, pink convex shaped.... oh.
My eyes and mouth were wide with shock as I stared dumbly at the thing i my hands. Not even Theodore had a comment and it seemed nature quieted herself down too, just so we could marvel in the humming noise that emanated from the what-I-wish-was-a-flashlight in my hands. The vibrations traveled up from my fingers to my shoulders and to my brain and I imagined that they shook every single coherent thought from my brain.
But as always, Teddy had something to say, even if it had taken him a while. "Well Charlie," he began, with a bitter smirk on his face, "it looks like you don't need a flashlight anymore."
Why do people talk in extremes?
Especially girls. People get upset about something. Maybe it happened once, maybe a few times, or maybe it's a trend that's been going on for a month or two. But it hasn't happened every time.
What do people say in response?
"I should be a mute because no one listens to what I say."
"I don't want anything ever because you never get me what I want."
"I don't want to speak/see to you ever again because you're pissing me off."
It's stupid and immature. And what's worse are the people who go through with it. It's like... what? You can't wait for change? Because let me tell you, nothing in this world stays the same. Eventually it'll change to something you want.
So I was "idealizing" suicide a few moments ago.
And I thought two things. First, why not type in the suicide tag in Tumblr? Second, I should look up ways people commit suice.
Did the first. Well, tht was sobering enough, I suppose. Like, the ideation's still there, but after reading about fifty posts, not only could I not read anymore, but I just became numb. However, I sent out messages as an anon and hopefully I helped someone, even if it was just for a second.
Then I did the second. The only thing that look even remotely doable by ME is the gas. Painless and slightly quick, though some sort of dizziness and "freak out" would probably result. I've no idea where to obtain said gas and I'm a coward when it comes to living and I'm a coward when it comes to death too.
In all, please don't end your life. I won't and, knowing you won't, anon, gives me strength. So I hope you get strength from me.
Or something.
Gah I'm not making sense.
Look, I just don't want to be around people.
They're fucking... annoying.
But don't worry. It's a phase I go through. I'll be reclusive, stick to myself, obsess over my fantasy world, and then maybe after a couple months I'll bounce right back.
But please don't ask me to hang out over... and over... and over... it's not you. It's me. And I know what it's like to be brought down, so I don't want to do that to you. So just. Leave me be, mostly. Try me every other week or so, if you have the patience. If not then, either you or I is not worth the time.
You know what ticks me off?
People deciding to not own up to their own fuck-ups. Then getting punished for it and being like, "gah, what a bitch? (S)he needs me."
Dude. Just. Fuckin', you deserved it. You're a great person, but if you have a job to do, you better do it. Don't expect to show up an hour and a half late and not get written up by your boss. You're lucky you weren't fired.
I only get the urge to roleplay at night.
