it still blows my mind that some people cannot seem to understand that the person who wrote a song about eating pussy and starred in a music video that fetishizes and sexually objectifies lesbian relations is the same person that the person that they idolize and stan. (and not even about the starring.. like even if he didn’t direct this video, this video is in his likeness, it’s him. it represents a person he wants to be perceived as.)

there’s often discussions about how you can’t separate art from the artist, that you can’t consume an artist’s art without directly supporting the artist. this... goes both ways. you can’t support an artist without understanding that the art they create is a reflection of who they are and what they want to create. his art is a reflection of who he wants to be, how he wants to be perceived. you can’t separate the two. you can’t say that this song and this video isn’t who he is. because it is.

it’s your choice to stan him like... no one’s telling you otherwise. but if you try to convince yourself that watermelon sugar and its music video is not an accurate reflection or portrayal of harry, you’re lying to yourself.

i’m not really sure if you realize this, but showing wlw is not the same as fetishizing them. harry knows a large part of his audience is wlw. the point of fetishization is that it’s created for the male gaze and for male pleasure. the video wasn’t created with the male gaze in mind.
