Pseudoscorpion, Garypus californicus, Garypidae, Pseudoscorpiones. Found in California.
Pseudoscorpions are tiny, predatory arachnids whose pincer-like pedipalps resemble those of true scorpions. Like all pseudoscorpions, this species is harmless to humans and in fact may be considered beneficial for preying on common household pest species.
