EXACTLY 😭😭😭 Spent all of April to late June trying to get a summer job, but the 20+ people on the local facebooks, LinkedIn, and Indeed just ghosted me. I got 1 “work shadow” but they didn’t even interview me and then said they didn’t want me lmao. I gave up 💀 I wanted to do tutoring instead and made a flier (to post on Facebook) late May but my dad said I would be sued by asshole parents and it would be too expensive to get insurance. I should have just done it anyway.

hi I’m a doctor. You’ve written your symptoms down but I didn’t read them. You’ve told me your symptoms but I wasn’t really listening and added a bunch of wrong stuff into your permanent chart that will definitely muddy the issue further in the future. Anyway it seems like you’re getting a little too pressed about trying to explain your symptoms more accurately to me- cringe, you probably made them up. You’re just an anxious hypochondriac loser and it’s all in your head. I’m putting that in your chart. You’re begging me to refer you for some tests? Bc other providers won’t see you without a referral? You’ve clearly just been googling too much. It’s weird that you’ve spent the months I’ve been ignoring you trying to educate yourself on your symptoms and learning the names of specific tests. See previous note about anxiety and being a loser hypochondriac. Call me again when you’re dying and it’s too late to do anything, then maybe I’ll think about referring you or getting the tests you want. Ughhh FINEE I’ll refer you, just to get you out of my hair. That appointment will be in ten months. That provider will treat you exactly the same as me. Your chart is useless. None of your providers have compatible information portals so none of them are looking at all the information or previous test results. You will be waiting for appointments for the rest of your natural life. Loser.

things I’ve noticed in the UK:

- when you’re jay walking, cars will actively accelerate bc the drivers want to kill you for breaking the rules

- servers in restaurants act very scared and apologetic, so maybe people aren’t nice to them here??? or I could be terrifying

- it’s really cute when little kids have British accents, but I’m unmoved by adults with accents

- extremely good gluten free options. this country is like 20 years ahead of Canada in that regard

- people will give random insignificant buildings names with little plaques. and then that’s the name that shows up on the map. like even a smaller than average family home, you can name it like it’s a dog

- lots of brick and stone buildings. looks cute and charming until you enter one and there’s no air conditioning

- people are still wearing jaguar print. I like this. don’t let it die

I literally cannot trust anyone who uses tumblr to message me privately bc I’ve had multiple ppl try to scam me, so whenever someone is just vague, I think it’s another scam; hence ignoring them. 99% sure everyone is/was a scam anyway, so… dodged some bullets, luckily. Got another one today going “hello, I liked your fic”, so I look on their account, and they only have one post from 2 hours ago about how they want to do art commissions, and it’s just, why would I reply to you??? You look so scammy?!?!?

I use tumblr to chat to the void, and obviously, if someone I knew/recognise messaged me, I would know it’s not a scam, but it’s always these random accounts just saying ‘hi’, asking for money, asking to talk on dodgy apps I don’t have, saying they ‘like my fic’ (with no details), and then that one time someone said they accidentally reported me on tumblr and that I was going to lose my account if I didn’t give them my information LMAO

Hanahaki disease is a psychosomatic illness. It's a thing that your body does in response to stress over constantly repressing/concealing your feelings in settings with high background magic. It's like you've been ignoring pain for a long time and suddenly your vision starts going dark, because your affected body is just YANKING on random alerts trying to get you to PAY ATTENTION there is a PROBLEM. Yes the flowers do really exist. So do non-magical psychosomatic symptoms. The flowers aren't special.

This does of course open up the trope to options for non-romantic concealed feelings. Which I think is great. There is something viscerally satisfying about the person who seems so outwardly chipper coughing and hacking and spitting up Depression Flowers so now everyone has to know they're hurting. Isn't there?
