Go! Princess Precure - Eye effects
(ranked from youngest to oldest Go!Pri.)
Meet Frank. (photos by OhSweetFancy)
Oh I hope I’m doing this right
The struggle used to be so real
Drawing for mum’s friend’s daughter who is in hospital after Taiwan explosion and almost gave up because of surgery pain
I don’t know her or even her name, but if it can encourage the young girl, then that is good enough for me
It’s reasons like this, that make me remember why I love art and why I continue to do it to this day
Summer 2015 Anime Review
Okay, so I’ve watched pretty much all the first episodes of every anime released this season. =_=
Akagami no Shirayuki-hime: A woman with rare red hair runs away after being pressured to become a mistress for the region's prince. She winds up accidentally running into the prince of another kingdom and the start of her fairy tale begins. The art is really lovely at times (I kind of wonder if they're animating at a slightly higher rate at times because the actions seem quite detailed) and has a nice laid-back pace to it. It's a shoujo romance, though I don't know much about it. I think it's worth a watch though since it has a charm to it. Aoharu x Kikanjuu: Oh look, another survival games anime with airsoft weapons - but this time with guys! Kinda... Hotaru is very hot-blooded and all about feats of strength, so she disguises herself as a boy. After losing a bet with a host called Masamune, Hotaru is forced to join both him and a manga artist as part of a survival games team. I think this show will be somewhat niche since it's a bit of an Ouran Host Club situation with a reverse harem. There's some humour to the whole thing, and it is pretty ridiculous seeing things explode and break apart due to Hotaru's crazy level of strength. If you like Ouran though, I suppose this is a good recommendation to follow up on. Chaos Dragon: The young prince of an island ripped apart by war makes a contract with a dragon in order to save his land and become king. The first episode didn't exactly go anywhere, but it was good enough to set up the situation and location. I'm not sure where this is going, but it does have a bit of a survival element to it, it seems. At the end of the episode there's a picture of the cast and they cross out whoever didn't make it. So that's something to be curious about at least. It doesn't exactly seem to be your standard fantasy gimmick though since they've avoided going for the cliche European fantasy background and instead given it a bit of a Journey to the West feel with Asian influences. Charlotte: A high school boy finds he has the ability to swap bodies with people for a few second. So he uses it for petty revenge and to cheat on tests. He makes his way to the best academy he can, but is caught out and forced to move to another school where others like him are put under supervision. The first episode wasn't all that bad, though this is an adaptation of a LN. It's also being done by P.A. Works, so I think my scepticism about the direction of the series is somewhat reasonable. But I'll give it a few more episodes at least. I did enjoy the idea that not all the powers were so convenient (including one where a guy can move super fast, but can't control where he goes). The MC's little sister is kind of adorable too. The premise is that the super powers will vanish eventually as the kids grow up, so that's an interesting point. Classroom Crisis: I'm still a bit confused by this one. A bunch of high school kids work for a company building specialised space ships. The son of the boss transfers into their class and tells them they're to be downsized or something due to how wasteful they are in their budget. Also, this all takes place on Mars where each Earth country has their own off-world prefecture terraformed space domes. It's supposed to be a romantic comedy, but I didn't really see that in the first episode. I'm really hoping the series sorts itself out in the next few episodes. There was a bunch of political stuff going on at the same time which left me kind of confused too. Gakkou Gurashi!: Four girls and a dog live in a school together as part of the 'school life club' under mysterious circumstances. Uh... I can't really go into a lot of things because the first episode really needs to be seen to be believed. The premise really catches you though and I can't wait for the next episode. Gangsta: A couple of "Handymen" work in the crooked city of Ergastulum and get paid to fix the city's rotten core which even the local police are hesitant to touch. The series is quite adult in both content and themes, so don't watch this, kids. The characters are all very likeable though. Worick is laid back but just wants to get the job done, Nic makes up for his bad hearing with great facial expressions and some sweet moves, and I've yet to see how Alex will turn out, but she's had a rough life so both of them taking her in as their secretary is pretty cool. Gatchaman Crowds Insight: Sequel to the last season. A new group called VAPE has turned up and they're out to cause havoc by using the Anti-Crowds to do their bidding. The Gatchaman group welcomes two new members - an alien and a girl from a remote rural town - and continue to help the country maintain peace whilst an election is looming. Though things aren't so easy now that they're all celebrities. The last Gatchaman series had some interesting thoughts on digital communication, how we interact with people through the net, and what kind of good can also be achieved. I'm wondering where they're going to take that theme now - especially now that Hajime is going to get some character development rather than just act as a catalyst for the group. Gate: A cross-world gate opens up in Japan and an army full of fantastical creatures comes out along with a seemingly Roman army. They are quickly defeated by modern technology and Japan decides to send their army in to investigate what's on the other side. This is some kind of bizarre propaganda for the Japanese Self-Defence Forces, I swear. There's a bit of politics involved, but basically every country seems pretty content to just sit back and let Japan take care of securing the new world. The JSDF also seems insanely competent despite being in a new world. And all the characters are super nice and the townsfolk love them, even though they've wiped about 120 000 people in an opposing army off the map. It's quite different to Outbreak Company where the army were secretly the bad guys. This time it's the new world's own emperor who is the bad guy, so the JSDF being there and invading is supposed to be a good thing. It's just really bizarre. Himouto! Umaru-chan: Umaru can do anything and everything, she's got brains, looks and excels at whatever she does. Everyone loves her. However, when she gets home she turns into a slob watching anime, playing games and filling herself on junk food. This causes no end of frustration to her older brother, Taihei, who wishes she'd stop acting so childish and having tantrums when she doesn't get her way. The series has quite a bit of charm once you get over the premise and Umaru's tantrums. The comedy parts will leave you smiling at least. Jitsu wa Watashi wa: Asahi can't keep a secret if his life depended on it, so things get super awkward when he discovers the girl he has a crush on, Shiragami, is actually a vampire. He vows to keep it though and becomes friends with her. I don't know a lot about this series, but it's a comedy and it's very vibrant. I've heard people complain about the art style change between the manga to the anime - because the manga is very expressive and unique. I'm hoping they'll keep that charm somehow in order to keep it interesting. Joukamachi no Dandelion: Nine super-powered siblings, all children of the town's king, are to participate in an election where the most popular sibling will become the next king. Their lives are broadcast in order for people to decide on who to pick. Akane, the third-oldest, hates being on camera though. She makes it her mission to win the election though in order to live a peaceful life... somehow. I'm not exactly a big fan of shows with huge casts like this since it tends to slow down the action a lot whilst it switches between what everyone is doing. I'm hoping that won't happen here too much now that the first episode is over, though I imagine each sibling might get their own focus episode. It's a comedy, so there's sure to be a lot of hijinks. Prison School: Oh geez... I'd seen pages from the manga, but this... Kiddies, avert your eyes. Five guys enrol in a school that was primarily just an all-girl's academy. After being largely ignored by their female classmates, they make the worst decision possible and decide to go peeping. This leads to them being put in a prison-like scenario where they're whipped, beaten and humiliated to make up for their misdeeds. I'm guessing they're going to mess things up even worse over the course of the punishment and wind up getting it even worse - especially since the MC promised the girl he likes he'd make it to a sumo match with her. There's a lot of censored content in this, and I have no idea how that one girl's boobs manage to defy gravity like that without a bra... I'm kind of cringing over this, though I'm sure some people will like it. Kuusen Madoushi Kouhosei no Kyoukan: To be honest, I skipped through a lot of this because it was so damn generic. Guy gets put in charge of a group of girls and train them in magic in order to defeat giant bugs threatening to destroy their sky city. Most of the first episodes was just running into the girls and having misunderstandings, along with lots of screaming about perverts. One of the girls has some kind of delusion that she's a reincarnated goddess, another one is so meek she barely has a presence, and another one has a hugely pompous attitude despite having a losing streak that goes into the hundreds. I just wasn't all that interested by the end. =/ Monster Musume no Iru Nichijou: Again, avert your eyes, kids. This is the daily life of Kurusu and his slowly growing harem of monster girls thanks to a government exchange program encouraging humans to get along with inhumans. You've got a snake-girl, a harpy, a centaur, a spider-girl, a mermaid, and a blob of slime in the shape of a girl. The only downside to Kurusu's life? He'll get punished if he starts a relationship with any of them, though he already seems to get beaten up enough accidentally by his own housemates. Apparently this is a good adaptation though, but I can't talk much about that aspect. Uh... the monster girls are cute though? Non Non Biyori Repeat: I'm so glad this got another season. It's a very relaxed, slice of life, kind of series about a group of girls living in the countryside and doing stuff together. It's got some good comedic moments along with the adorableness of the characters. It's a good show to wind down on when you're stressed. Overlord: I didn't know what I was expecting when I went into this. I thought it'd be another SAO, but it's not. After a wildly popular MMO comes to its end, one player stays until the very end and doesn't log off. Instead of being booted off the server though, he finds himself living in the MMO where the NPCs react to him and he can't contact any mods. There's just one thing different to this though - Momonga is a skeleton demon lord. Even though his guild is no longer around, the NPC guardians he assigned are there to serve him. It's actually kind of cute in a weird way. Momonga is just a normal guy who's sad his favourite MMO has come to a close. All of a sudden he's actually his skeleton avatar and has a really imposing voice when he talks, but he's still kinda nerdy and likes to ramble on about how cool stuff is. His NPC servants are pretty cool and seem interesting. I laughed when he got embarrassed over changing the settings on one NPC to be in love with him. I'm actually really looking forward to watching this series. Ranpo Kitan: Game of Laplace: Edogawa Ranpo was one of Japan's best horror and mystery writers, so this series is based around his works. A young boy is accused of a crime he didn't commit, so teams up with a young genius detective in order to clear his name and solve the puzzle. Personally I'm rather interested in this, though I watched this with some friends and they weren't so inclined. So this is probably going to be a niche series not everybody will like. Rokka no Yuusha: Six heroes are chosen by a goddess every few hundred years in order to reseal a demonic god that threatens to destroy the land. Adoretta, a young man who proclaims himself to be the strongest in the land and worthy of being one of the goddess' heroes, is chosen and travels with the Saint of Blades to rendezvous with the other four. Except, when they get there they find there are five others. One of them is suspected to be part of the enemy army and all eyes fall upon Adoretta. The first episode of this was pretty cool. There's a Mayan theme to the fantasy world which is quite rare, and the action was really well done. Adoretta still has to get fleshed out a little more, though I'm sure that'll happen as things go along and the mystery reveals itself. I think this will be worth watching. Shimoneta to Iu Gainen ga Sonzai Shinai Taikutsu na Sekai: Tanukichi, a high school boy, lives in a world that has been sanitised in order to uphold morals and bring up children in a clean environment. He enrols in an elite school due to his admiration of its school council president and vows to uphold morals and help stamp out anything dirty at the school. However, the vice president is actually a dirty joke terrorist and she's decided to get him involved in her own nefarious plans in order to educate the world that it's okay to have dirty thoughts. Oh lordy, I had some laughs with this one despite how gross the premise is. The censoring actually makes everything funnier. Sore ga Seiyuu!: Futaba is a newbie seiyuu to the industry and has landed a job voicing a mascot character alongside a group of famous seiyuu who are far more professional and prepared than herself. The series is a really good inside look at how anime is made, specifically the voice acting side of things. I learnt quite a bit from it. The main girls are quite endearing, especially Futaba and a fellow newbie called Ichigo. They over-think things far too much, so you really want to cheer them on. =w= To Love-ru Darkness 2nd: Uh... Well, there sure are a lot of light beams and fluffy pink clouds to cover everything up... I couldn't watch more than 10 minutes I felt so embarrassed watching it. Ushio to Tora: This is a pretty old manga, so it's pretty neat that it's getting a new adaptation. A boy at a temple accidentally opens up a basement in one of the storerooms and finds a demon stuck to a wall due to a spear impaling him. Ushio is set on leaving him there, but it's not so simple since opening the basement has let out all the monster's demonic aura and is attracting more demons to him. Ushio realises he has to fix things but can only do so with the spear. He retrieves the spear, but the monster along with it. Rather than let the monster continue to cause havoc, he vows to keep him under supervision through threatening him with the spear. I liked this series. The old-school feel of it is really refreshing, though it's been updated enough so that the animation really shines through. I'm looking forward to this one.

The best part about this is that it is BARELY exaggerated from the actual scene in the movie.

Some Jurassic World concept has hit the internet! Created by Gadget-Bot Productions and recently published on their website, the art depicts some scenes that are quite similar to the final images seen in the film (such as the mosasaur feeding show), as well as some concepts that didn’t make it into the film, such as the Indominus (curiously, referred to as “Malasaurus” during the stage of production in which this art was created) attacking a robotic tyrannosaurus attraction.
