THIS post in particular made me realize that my hatred for (SPECIFICALLY) gender-bending male characters as female is because of dysphoria and my being a trans guy. Vincent Fans - Deadplate

I'm wondering how the narrative could have changed if Deadplate was set in the modern era. Obviously, we're still fighting for rights but at least Vincent would probably have had a better understanding of himself.

I'm of the mind that if Vincent could've had help for his mental state, he could have had a better chance of being in a relationship. Also, he would have gotten that iron because baby is anemic as fuck. In an au, Vincent would have been a vampire. And hey, maybe Rody would've realised his bisexuality (or accepted it) in this day and age. So there could be a chance.

Typhoid Mary Discussion

In my class, we were given a prompt and that was our thoughts on Typhoid Mary. Specifically if she was the victim or the villain. In a way, that's oversimplifying things but also, she's a villain. Full stop.

The DISREGARD for human life from that bitch. HOLY FUCK. *fog horn sounds in the distance* Not washing her hands because basic hygiene wasn't normalized then but also continuing to cook even after making a deal to NOT do that????????????? WHAT. Pardon me for flipping the fuck out. Also vaccines weren't a thing yet but this certainly inspired it. She was placed in isolation twice. The first time she had made the agreement to not cook so as to stop the spread of typhoid but she fucking LIED. She continued cooking anyway despite the MANY attempts to get her to stop spreading the disease. While there was a 10% chance of death, all those who contracted it were gravely ill. So she was placed back into isolation for twenty years until she died.

Mary was a carrier and riddled with typhoid.

Hand hygiene saves lives. This cannot be stressed enough. VACCINES can save lives (also end them depending on your own health but that's beside the point). In the discussion, we were also tasked to draw conclusions to COVID, abortion, and trans rights. It just occurred to me that, all things considered, people are way more respectful on this platform about other religions than literally any other social media platform combined with real life.

I'm a Hellenic Polytheist. "Me too." (multiplied by 20). The main issue is how we look at information. We're just judging the source material and each other for using it.

It's been less of any shit against Zeus and more of 'I don't like that material.' or "I disagree, I think this myth is better" or some other childish yet somehow mature argument. Folks will still misunderstand some things but at least they're not throwing death threats or anything because I'm devoted to Zeus.

Suffice to say that Zeus has been my ride or die way of differentiating people's intentions. Are they good? Are they respectful? If I bring up Zeus or they somehow find out about Him and they become really shitty then huzzah. "Keep your friends close and your enemies closer." This for some reason came to mind. If that person suddenly becomes really curious about it and asks all kinds of questions, while being really respectful, then I'm over here celebrating.

It's great when I can't tell if someone is sincere. Depending on their reaction, I have relatively full proof way to discern their attitudes.

Olympeia

I have somewhat busy day tomorrow so I thought to make this post today.

This festival, celebrated on the 19th of Mounikhion (Enati Epi Deka), honours Zeus Olympios. The timing for this year is amazing because tomorrow is Thursday and I HEAVILY associate that day with Him. As the epithet implies, this festival focuses on Zeus as an Olympian but also as the head of the Olympians. I personally love this epithet because it really highlights Him as the King of the Gods, ruling from the highest plane of the three realms.

I fucking love him.
