It's been a few years since the roleplay formatter was launched and it was due a well deserved update. Of course, most of the functions you found as per the original post remain, with some new features that hopefully will make your lives easier.
The formatting options supported by tumblr are:
source: switch between html and rich text
B I S : bold, italics and strike-through
<s>: make text small
headline 2 (bigger) and headline 1 (biggest)
text color: like this.
numbered lists
bullet point lists
blockquotes
images
ใใใใ ใใ โ what's new?
width toggle: This was a feature from the original release I feel like I should bring back. The width is set by default to tumblr's standard size of 540px, with the toggle you can switch between 540px so you can see exactly what your post will look like, and 1080px for more ample room and easier writing.
copy code button: If clicking on source, selecting all and hitting CTRL+C is too many steps, just click on the "copy code" button and that's it!
add double spaces:ย You won, people. I will still discourage you from using multiple spaces because they're hard to read. But hey, if your heart is so compelled by multiple spaces that you cannot give them up, the good news for you is that now you have a button to multiply the real estate in between words right there and ready to go.
the code itself!: The script I was previously using is deprecated and outdated so I had to code a completely brand new editor. This shouldn't be much of a difference for you, but it does mean that it's built completely from scratch with a different architecture. If things feel a little different this is why.
mobile optimization: I have done my best to optimize everything for mobile screens, so this formatter should be usable on mobile and on tablets.
bonus! useful links: I also included a little navigation bar with useful links to tools I use often to format my replies, this list is subject to updates and changes, but it should not impede with the functionality of the formatter otherwise.
ใใใใใIf you come across any bugs please let me know!
ใใใใใ This project is a forever work in progress and I'm still learning coding.

โNobody said healing spells were gentle so just, bear with me a second.โ
โWhat did you exchange for that power?โ
โWhat did you just do to me?โ
โYour aura is a little bright right now.โ
โMy dreams were strange last night.โ

โDo you hear that? Sounds like a spell gone off wrong.โ
โPut down the weapon! Itโs cursed!โ
โIโm not against magic per se.โ
โOuch! I told you to keep that spell away from me until you get it right!โ
โWhatโs that mark from?โ
โWe only have one chance at this ritual, itโs going to burn up our components whether itโs a success or not.โย
โI need a crystal ball for that.โ
โYouโre losing control, just drop it before itโs too late.โย
โThis storm isnโt natural, itโs been summoned by someone.โ
โSo many curses, Iโm so indecisive of which to use on you.โ
โYouโre going to need to offer more than that if you want my abilities to help you.โ
โWhat do you mean youโre out of tricks?โ
โMagic isnโt real.โ
โYou know, thereโs probably an enchantment for that.โ
โIโm not sure how the gods would feel about us dabbling in that magic.โ
โI donโt sense anything nearby.โ
โDid your shadow justโฆ speak?โ
โI heard that magic died out long ago.โ
โYouโre meddling with fate.โ
โThat kind of spell will leave you in unspeakable agony if cast incorrectly!โ
โIโm rather attached to the old customs.โ
โDoes yourย godย have nothing else to offer you?โ
โWhere did you learn to do that?โ
โYouโre delivering death too often with that magic, you ought to watch out for equivalent exchange.โ
โThis artifact is cursed.โ
โSo, what did you see in there?โ
โLook, somethingโs happening with the mirror.โ
โThese components are too expensive.โ
โThe sigils! We need to dispel them!โ
โI saw what you just did.โ
โThis will protect you, itโs enchanted.โ
โThat city fell to ruin, it was a testing ground for experimental magic.โ
