I tend to get a bit hipsterish when it comes to Apple. I was amazed by itās simplicity and basic user interfaces back in 2005, because this kid I knew had one. It blew me away. I was in elementary school then and my basic knowledge of windows and how it got so complicated to simply uninstall a program as to just deleting it on a Mac made me very attracted to this machine. Finally I didnāt get my first Mac until high school, it was used, but easier for me to navigate. By then I had already made up my mind that Mac was the superior product for me and there was nothing anybody could have said that would make me feel any different. I would boast that it was better than Windows and just running my mouth as an ignorant teenager would. Then I got the iPhone in college shortly after my first job, then a new MacBook Pro, at which point I knew that Mac and Windows are the same thing, now that Apple became a trend and more Mac based users came along, it was just a matter of preference. Apple was my preference. everything seemed fine for the most part as Apple basically did no wrong in advancing their design even though at time they mimic what the competitions invented. That was Appleās tactic, innovate where everyone was lacking and copy everything else. A perfect business model that did not take steps backwards. As of recent years, by that I mean by without theĀ āDictatorship of Steve Jobs,ā the company has strayed: Designs plateaued, innovations ceased, mimicry is lazy, and the signature Think Different motto is gone. Jobsās out done himself every year, yes he pushed his employees to maddening conditions, but the results showed, the consumers were amazed, expectations were met and sometimes exceeded. Letās pause for a second here and address your thoughts: I'm not saying that over working your employees is brilliant, Iām saying Apple had a work model that exceeded market productions where they were straight forward and only when the king died did people began complaining, where as Google does the same but under a comfort veil ofĀ āWe provide all needs and wants.ā Back on track Ā here. There was a standard. Jobs wanted to exceed himself and that worked for every design of the iPhone. Cooks is now just puppeteering a company that wasnāt his baby, heās running a company, not lifeās work. he probably treats most of his employees fairly, but isnāt invested and acknowledging the shitty output. Apple is now just pushing out money bait. And you canāt blame them because itās just so easy. IN the last release of the new MacBook Pro they added 4 USB-C ports and removed the HDMI and MagSafe. along which will come a plethora of adapters but whereās the sleek design in that? What happened toĀ āit just works?ā I canāt just drop my laptop down for a presentation and look for 4 dongles before starting anything. There has to be a better way to handle this, which where thatĀ āThink Differentā stubbornness that ran apple for so many years succeeded.Ā āif we donāt have a clean solution, weāre gonna make oneā and thatās something I feel been missing from apple since the Jobs died. I can only hope for when his son grows up, to step up and reclaim a forgotten aspiration.
