Oil on canvas 110×60 cm
No one will read this, but it is necessary to say it: for many years I have been drawing and portraying the Dalton brothers and Lucky Luke as best as I can, as this comic book saved my life and has stolen (and still steals) a smile and a laugh from me. The fantastic brothers are an infinite source of inspiration that I will portray in the most epic and mythical way possible, as I feel the need to demonstrate my immense gratitude towards this wonderful saga.
For many years, I imagined a hypothetical ending for Lucky Luke (which I will probably never see), but in the end, I discovered that Lucky Luke is an endless odyssey, made of ups and downs, just like the life of every human being; Lucky Luke is a comedy that speaks of the human condition disguised as a Western myth.
This canvas portrays the protagonist and his 'enemies' running towards the end of the West, in California, because by constantly heading where the sun sets (to the west), Lucky Luke may eventually encounter the end of the famous wild and faraway West, which concludes at the horizon—that thin line that separates the ocean from the infinite sky.
I hope I have managed to prove myself worthy of your esteem and admiration; I have poured a part of my soul into this, trying to give the protagonists depicted here happiness—no longer chasing anything, but simply enjoying the ride.
The Lucky Luke saga will go on even after I am gone, like all myths and legends that outlive death; I sincerely hope to have done justice to this epic myth, I have so much love for this saga that I don't even know where to put it anymore, I hope to be worthy of the creators attention.

Edit: I wanted to create an oil painting because is the most powerful form of love I know, creating something with my hands is a way to show my immense love.
