Started playing suikoden remaster bc I heard suikoden 2 was one of the greatest rpgs of the ps1 era and I keep putting my good items on people who die

#kind of an annoying inventory management system #there's no shared inventory; everyone has like 8 slots and it includes any armor they have equipped #so a fully equipped character can carry about 4 things on them including all healing items and drops and stuff #and I'm only a few hours in but this is one of those games where party members regularly die for the plot and you lose everything they had #so I'm spending big money to kit these people out and having them die 30 mins later with half my shit in their pockets it's nasty...#spent like 80% of my money on a water rune and didn't even get to use it before the girl died in a cutscene. saved before I noticed #trying to be less of a save scummer in my gaming career I'm just going to tank it #telling myself that this game is thematically about sacrifice and still investing in people you care about while you can and moving forward #as a coping mechanism
