This is a HTTYD little fan blog. I specifically focus on the show and movies, the third movie isn't my cup of tea, so I will only talk about the aspects of it I do like! I am making this as a comfort blog, so good times only.
I try to do some little challenges but those aren't a guarantee.

Enjoy some happy toothless
The eel effect is an interesting episode because it finally answers why dragons dislike eels. It makes me wonder what evaluation had to take place for it. But, the most important part is how Toothless tries to keep Hiccup safe despite being extremely ill.
He leaves to protect his friend after he got scared that he hurt his person. Poor baby.
Also — the village is so funny, and my favourite thing is that Snotlout said, "Join talons, hands, and hoves." he's either making an uprising for cattle too, or there are hooved dragons LMFOA.

I'm genuinely distraught that I can't actually watch ROB anymore! To make up for not being able to, I will be rewashing the second movie.
The second movie genuinely has so many STUNNING dragon designs. I genuinely can't wait! I will be typing up thoughts during and after my watches ^-^
Genuinely the connection between the riders and each other is so wonderful to experience, each one fulfills the roles the other riders need in their lives. Astrid keeps coming to mind as a sort of advice giver to the group, especially Hiccup. She helps people learn their lessons very well and naturally caters her approach to each one. Its so subtle but I believe it's there.
I like to think about what their relationship to the villagers would be, especially the ones that we know. How they would treat then and what they would bring into their lives.
Also, their relationship to the auxiliary riders would be wholesome (except spitelout). Even if it appears in less then "normal ways, it would be so mentor and adorbs.
Lowkey would love to have a cross breed of the Nightfury and Monstrous Nightmare. Maybe it would be called Furious Nightmare, it would be between the size of the Monstrous Nightmare and the Nighfury, like right in the middle.
Maybe it has the body of a Monstrous Nightmare, but the roundedness of a Night Fury. Kind of like a traditional dragon?
Not sure but I feel like this weird mashup has so much potential!
Been sick these past few days,that sucks, so have this comfort doodles of some cutesies.
Question; why is the Nightfury "The unholy offspring of lightning and death" when that fits the Skrill more.
Maybe the Night Fury can be "The Offspring of Nótt and Death"
It would be so cool if they played around with the idea that the Night Fury and the Skrill were two halves of the same coins and tauted as such.
Ohhhh imagine if Berk's dragon was the night fury and the Breaseker's was the Skrill, and that's why they had that alliance. That would be such a good fanfic.
Anyway Ram Rambles are over
Can we appreciate the actual genuine smarts of the twins. They know multiple languages (most that shouldn't even exist at the time), and they have such wits when it comes to getting out to situations. Ruffnut especially had gotten the group out of so many issues it's insane.
They are smart, the type of insane smart that comes from being curious and willing to try anything. They aren't intellectual when it comes to the sciences and the stereotype, but they are intelligent in the twins way and that's why they are so great.
I was bored so toothless

That episode where Hiccup desperately looks for the island of night to give toothless a family is such a good episode.
Because Hiccup understands what it means to be the outlier, the only one of his kind in an island of people who belong with someone else. Who are like someone else. So, he understands exactly what it would be like for Toothless.
He doesn't quite understand that Toothless already found someone who is his family, his person, and his people. Hiccup is the only family he needs. Yes it would have been nice to find others but he's just as happy with only being with Hiccup.
Such a beautiful episode.
Watching RoB and seeing the festival episode and seeing Snotlout gloat for once while actually being proud of himself is such a nice thing. Usually, he's always been beaten down by one person or the other.
This is the one time of the year when he gets appreciated by his family.
This is also the episode where Hiccup gets his own chance to prove himself to everyone and his own father. Everyone looked down on him for losing even if they didn't verbalise it, at least that's what he thinks. It is partially true, the only difference is that unlike spite spitelout, Stoic respects and is proud of his son and his achievements, he doesn't care much about the games he just wants to see his son prove himself.
Spitelout would spit roast Snotlout. He has no respect for his son or his achievements thus far. He only cares about the victory and the glory of it.
Seeing Hiccup understand that in this episode and seeing Hiccup also get the chance to feel proud of himself is so good.
Hiccup isn't wrong for finally wanting to gloat on the guy that bullied him for losing, but he is the nicer person for letting Snotlout win. He isn't like Snotlout, even if he isn't wrong for wanting to be, it just isn't him.
I love their dynamic so much.
I love how a lot of the shows of how to train your dragon is "Look at how amazing toothless and hiccup are." Yes it's because they are the ones that learned best how to work together but I bet you snotlout is "memememeemem my name is hiccup and I get all the praise because I have toothless mimimimimi"
I find that snotlout isn't just your average douchebag character archetype. He does care, he really does, but with the family he was raised in — this is literally his way of showing care.
Every time he acts in the way he does isn't because he means anything evil or mean, he means the opposite but doesn't quite know how to get it across so he defaults to the actions and behaviours he already has learned.
"Spitlout is mean to you because he wants you to grow big and strong." So he's mean to the people around him because he grew up thinking it was a sign of care
He isn't entirely clueless and when he understands that what is did is wrong he apologises in his own way, like in the episode with the flying maidens.
