hello I’ve been thinking about this a lot lately. The anonymity of tumblr means that I associate my idea/image of you with your icon and sometimes I look at people’s icons and I’m like ‘hmmm….what is that and why?’
so pls reblog this and comment in the tags the meaning behind your icon and why you chose it. this is a social experiment. do it for science pls.
I’m a country and it’s my flag
I just really like sharks, okay?

I used to be obsessed with digging up random GIFs for my own collection (I am a crow, I need shiney) And I found this dancing cat one day and it just struck me as the most perfect thing in the universe
like
it was adorable, it had all the pretty colors, it was a cat, it had a fun chromatic abberation, it danced
it was me
I immediately set it to my profile on every single site I had
My icon is a screenshot of the distance from Cornwall to a town mentioned in Matilda by Roald Dahl. It's from an SCP theory I made.
Basically, in SCP-4231 (TW: SA, read at own risk), the GOC (the United Nations' official Delta Greenish organization, but Scientia Potentia Est) was doing a project in the '80s where they committed genocide on reality benders (which brought the average lifespan of a reality bender at that time to 8 years old). The SCP article is set in '80s North Access, Cornwall, detailing Dr. Alto Clef's backstory, that GOC project, and the Cornwall Incident (the whole town of North Access got boiled alive in a flood).
In Matilda, the book mentions TV dinners and other things that I have to check the original post for, but those mentions clue the readers in that it was set in the '80s-'90s. Assuming that Matilda's telekinesis counts as reality bending, she would be targeted by the GOC. Therefore, I'm glad Roald Dahl cut the book off at the happy ending.
