doodles snorted as he looked over his ticket.. Arkion, huh?

it certainly has been a good while since his last adventure, surely one trip couldnt hurt-- besides, its free! who could give up a free ticket?

so they looked into it, making sure his feathers sat right as he chose his form, he wondered what it would be like, would anyone mistake him for the person he mimicked? he was almost scared he didnt put enough research into this, or maybe the information simply wasnt there... or maybe, there wasnt even a different 'player' to compare to yet....

he debated on dragging someone along though.. there only was one ticket...

The tour guide pulls away from their tablet to greet the next guest. Their brow scrunches up at him, looking between him and their tablet a few times. "Didn't we already send you in?"

"uh nah man" he tilted his head slightly "ive never been here in my life" he glanced around the space he appeared in, then at the tour guide

They stare at them again for a while, then just shrug. "Oh well. Not my problem." They smile. "So, you got anyone or anywhere specific you wanna go to?"

"mmmm..." he hummed taking a moment before speaking "not... really... i guess uh.. the rrraainbow towwn?" he grinned nervously

They typed the location in, then frowned at the lack of results. They were about to tell the guest their destination didn't seem to exist, but then their eyes widened in realization. "Give me a moment, please." They continued tapping until the device beeped. "Here. This is what came up." A map was printed out of the side of the tablet, and the guide gave it and a calling badge to the guest. "I hope you enjoy your time in Arkion!"

"woah. funky." he looked at the tablet, taking the things, glancing over them "well, i guess i better get going then.. thank you so much..!" he grinned nervously before running off in... the.. wrong direction

"...Not a single normal person wants to come here, huh?" The guide rolls their eyes and walks back into the CPH building.

Since he's running in the completely wrong direction, Doodles is going to find himself in an empty pale garden.

he slowed as he ended up in the garden, swallowing with a semi audible 'gulp'. he checked his map, then looked behind him. why did he do that?? he couldve just gone the right way

he made himself look like even more of an idiot that he already is...

Dark clouds covered the already dull sky, blotting out the sun entirely and bringing in the smell of rain. The darker it got, the brighter the eye blossoms glowed. They seemed to stare at Doodles, judging them.

he let out a sigh through his nose, looking up the cloud cover. then, he started heading in the right direction... a little rain wont hurt... hopefully...

he did his best to keep his sense of direction (though it had already been fleeting since last he checked) the sun set in... the... uhm... wwwest..? so... he should go.... thhaaat waayyy.......

West led him out of the garden, and the eyes all closed when he left. Far enough out, there was a path lit by streetlamps of various colors.

he analyzed carefully, glancing around... before following it..

After walking for several blocks, they'll have come across a gate and its keeper, a tall, pale furred creature with short curved back horns. He looked at Doodles with utter confusion. "...Sabre?" he hesitated to answer. "How did you get outside? I just saw you. And what are you doing in your disguise?"

he blinked. which is to say, he did nothing for a beat, seemingly just staring at them "uuuuhhhhhhhhhh..... fffirst of all... nnnawt sabre" he motioned with his hand "uhm... ssssecond of all... disguise?"

Once he spoke, the Arkis realized this wasn't the person he thought it was, and upon further inspection, there were a few physical differences he hadn't noticed. He shrank back just a bit, frowning fearfully. "Who are you?"

"doodles.. im uh.. visiting?" he stated, fidgeting with his feathered arms. his social anxiety doesnt prepare him enough for these situations (which is to say mine, but whatever..) he now looked at the gate.. the only.. signs of this really being the slight upward tilt of his head

He looked down, eyes darting around the grass in thought. Then he nodded at the stranger. "Let's... let's get you out of the rain, Doodles." He gestured for them to follow him, and opened the gate into the town.

"think there'll be a rainbow later?" he glanced up to the clouds, though it didnt last long as rain drops landed on his face. he followed light in as he was invited in

"I guarantee it," Light answered softly, still heavily confused who in Arkion this person is, but so far endeared to him. "Now, let's head to my place. There's someone there I think you should meet."

"uhm.. alright?" he wasnt really all that confused as he followed, his little tail wagging..

Light was a little put off by this Sabre look-alike grabbing his paw but whatever. He guides them into the town and to a large house. "Um, make yourself comfortable," he offered nervously, running for the stairs. "Sabre! Sabre, are you here?!"

His voice faded out, and Doodles was left in the foyer, given free reign to "make themself comfortable".

he blinked. which, again... was to say that he visibly did nothing at all.

"well.. i guess im here now..." he muttered softly, peeking out one of the windows to snoop on the denizens of the town

They were mostly busy getting out of the rain, save for the ones playing in it.

"What the...?" Another voice was heard behind him, accompanied by foot and hoofsteps descending down the stairs.

"Uh, Doodles," Light called. "I want to introduce you to Sabre."

"oh uh.. hey?" his voice strained slightly. he crossed his arms, trying to ignore his embarrassment welling up and showing itself as a slight flush on his face

Without certainty, Sabre waved. "Hey back." He tried to laugh the awkwardness away. "You, uh... What brings you here, buddy?" He didn't seem exactly concerned that Doodles looked so much like him, not as much as Light was at least. He definitely seemed weirded out, though.

"jus um... lookin around..?" he looked away, feeling over his feathers a bit

Sabre politely smiled as widely as he could as he was crushed by the silence between the conversation. "That's cool. I betcha came here from Crest, right?" he presumed, pointing at them, then reaching out his hand for Doodles to shake. "You're in Arkion now, in a... currently unnamed town. I'm Sabre. That's my friend Light."

"uh.." he flinched slightly "i guess so? i.. dont really do handshakes, sorry. uh. im doodles"

Sabre pulled his hand away. "Right, my bad."

Light butted in, feeling Sabre wasn't addressing something he maybe should have been. "Sabre, haven't you noticed they look almost identical to you?" he said quietly.

"It's fine. It's a Player thing," Sabre whispered. "We can choose how we look. This guy probably just knows my channel or something."

"ahaha... y-yeah big fan..? actually?" he added softly, thinking about jumping out the window... unfortunately, he wasnt brave enough to try that

The way his voice raised with every sentence made Sabre a bit suspicious, but he just shrugged it off. "Well, it's good to meet you. Let's, uh, let's get you somewhere to stay, huh? Before the rain gets any worse."

"uh.. yeah" he said softly, bringing a hand up to feel at the soggy feathers on his head from walking through the rain

Sabre grabbed an umbrella from beside the door and lead Doodles outside. "We've still got a few empty houses for you to choose from, so-- Oh!" His attention was shifted when he saw someone coming forward, skipping through puddles. "Hey, Rainbow, check it out! I've got a twin!"

The Arkis, Rainbow apparently, stopped to see what Sabre was talking about. "Woah." His eyes widened. "Where'd they come from?"

"The Portal," Sabre answered. "Their name's Doodles."

"oh thats-" he twitched, feeling over his feathers nervously "h i" he squeaked out. grinning nervously

Rainbow waved at Doodles cheerfully. "Nice to meetcha! I'm Rainbow. I'm the mayor here. If Sabre told you he was the mayor, he lied," he teased.

Sabre turned his head in a way that implied that his eyes rolled, resting one hand on his hip. "I did not tell him I was the mayor."

"hhhh-hi rrrr-r-rainbow" he squeaked "hhhe didnt.." he muttered picking at his feathers... though, through the rain itd probably be a bit difficult to hear him...

Rainbow's smile dipped slightly as his face turned from happy to concerned. "Is... everything alright?" he asked sincerely. "I don't bite. There's no need to be nervous." Despite not looking as happy, Rainbow's smile was still very warm.

There was a beat of excruciatingly awkward silence before Sabre pat Doodles on the back and ushered them forward. "Hey, don't worry about it. It's a new place, whole new species of people. I get being nervous. Now let's get you inside a building before the rain gets unbearable."

Rainbow shrugged and waved goodbye to them. "Hope you enjoy it here!" he called as he left for his house.

Sabre nodded. "Oh, yeah. I get it." Then he quickly mumbled "I mean, I actually don't get it, but it's fine." He came to the door and opened it for Doodles. "Nothing to worry about. We won't bother you much if you don't want us to." He gave him as warm a smile as he could manage. "Hope you like your place."

I genuinely don't think it matters if parents love their kid or not, honestly. It truly doesn't matter, as love is just an emotion, and your emotions truly do not matter when it comes to the wellbeing of other people. Your actions do.

It doesn't matter how much love you have for your kid, how much you just wanted to protect them and give them the best life they could... if you abuse them, you abused them. If you hit your kid, screamed at your kid, sexualized your kid, and you take 0 accountability for it because you love them, you are no better than a parent that despises their child or doesnt care for their child and does the same thing. As they like to say, facts do not care about your feelings. Harm is still harm when it comes from a loving heart.
