Unless you were a tech at NASA back in the day, when one time some hydrogen a) escaped in a particular building, and b) caught on fire. This was extremely difficult because hydrogen does NOT burn on the visible spectrum humans evolved to see (and flee). Rather, it technically does, but it’s so pale that in practice, no one could see it. Additionally, pure hydrogen burns without smoke and with so little ambient heat that you can’t really sense it till you walk into it. So, per the lore, for a few days all the techs in that building just walked around brandishing brooms in front of them like lances. If your broom lit on fire, congrats! You have located more burning hydrogen! Do not proceed!

SO many freedom/power indicator things you can do with wings. imagine a chained/imprisoned chosen with clipped flight feathers, desperately yanking them out in the box in the hopes that they'll regrow and feel correct. chosen off balance when alan yanks him out to do popup blocking, some deep part of his code thrown off by the lack of weight from proper feathers. chosen feeling even more stuffed and cramped and claustrophobic inside of his box than one would expect because he can't see the sky, he can't stretch his wings, he can't even light fire enough to see them to preen them. chosen with shaking hands trying to rearrange feathers in pitch black darkness. chosen too depressed to even bother trying to preen his feathers at all. chosen afraid to stretch out his wings even in the brief moments of freedom, in the fear that alan can them away with a mouse click like he took away his powers. adding onto that, chosen with wings being dead weights when alan deactivates his powers. wings that drag uselessly behind him when all of his abilities are suppressed.

feathers that glow in the low light when his powers are activated. feathers with a subtle warmth perfect for cold, lonely nights. chosen tucking dark beneath his wings in moments of fondness. dark doing the same for chosen. chosen trusting dark enough to help preen the hard to reach places on his back. chosen wordlessly revoking that trust after the attack on newgrounds, leaving dark confused and pushing dark even harder to work on the virabot project to win chosen's trust back. chosen seeing tiny wings easily hidden on second's back and wondering if second struggles to preen them too. chosen watching as second's tiny wings grow outward into waves of green and golden feathers when he fights back against dark and wanting. he's not sure what he wants, but he wants. maybe company, maybe someone that understands, he's not sure. he wants regardless. he wants something that he feels like he's been lacking since his trust in dark began to wane.

chosen losing his wings along with his name, a raw scraping pain that feels like his spine is being yanked out and rearranged as all power drains out of him. his back feels bare. his palms feel cold. his throat feels raw from struggling to inhale while drowning and failing to exhale fire to warm himself after. chosen who reaches to dark and the safety of dark's wings, because if he can't be shielded by his own then maybe- maybe dark will at least-

the sky has never felt so far from him when dark slugs him and drops him to the ground.

a chosen that is cold and off balance and suddenly has to reckon with the fact that heights are no longer his friend, the wind no longer his ally.

how weirdly fitting, that the first thing he did when his wings were gone was fall.

Curiosity Question about the most recent My World au post/comic!

Since in standard Minecraft Piglins are scared of/avoid Zombiefied Piglins, was Iggy being really brave in that regard or was there a different reason Iggy routed past them?

She is being brave! But also-

She's had some experience with zombification. Not to mention she still hangs out with Glen, who often returned from the Overworld with slight growths so much so that there's a permanent one on their hand now.

So she's still afraid, but desensitized enough that she's not outright repulsed like everyone else. Glen had a similar experience themselves.
