Happy pie day
“men can’t be oppressed” -> men of colour
“white men can’t be oppressed” -> gay men
“heterosexual men can’t be oppressed” -> trans men
“cis-het men can’t be oppressed” -> intersex men
“perisex men can’t be oppressed” -> disabled men
“able-bodied men can’t be oppressed” -> neurodivergent men
“cis-het perisex white able-bodied neurotypical men can’t be oppressed” -> buddy let me tell you about wealth and class and homelessness and immigrants and minority languages and cultures and being a child and being an elderly person and and and
we can keep doing this all day but the reality of the world is that very few people don’t face any kind of oppression at all and everyone exists in a complicated, intersecting web where they have privileges over some people in some contexts and some others are have privilege over them in other contexts. no one individual is incapable of enacting oppression and if you think that about yourself you need to go away and interrogate that belief.
Self-awareness doesn’t mean you should always assume you’re the problem. It means you pause, reflect, and respond with care. It does not mean you carry all the responsibility in every conflict.
Fun fact: if you, as an adult, tell miserable children that their youth is the best that life will ever be, and that it's all just downhill from there, there's a percentage of them who will hear this and think "well, I guess I better kill myself before that happens." And a certain percentage of those will proceed to do that and succeed.
Anyway what I'm saying is that any time you feel tempted to say that, you should instead consider shutting the fuck up. Just because you peaked at 16 doesn't mean anyone else did. Most peoples' lives get better than that.
The idea of “but everyone knows that” needs to stop.
I saw a post about someone chiding Millennials for not knowing about JKRowlings transphobia, and asking how it is at all possible that people can exist in the world and the internet and, you know, not know.
Which I mean, I get. It is so present in so many of my online spaces that it seems astounding that someone could simply be ignorant! It feels impossible!
But let me tell you a story:
I went on a girls trip with a bunch of friends. All of us are rather incredibly liberal and all of us are incredibly online.
One girl would not stop talking about Harry Potter.
At one point, another girl asked her why she was ok with supporting it, and she had no real clue that JK Rowling was at all transphobic. She had heard that she likes to support Lesbian causes and thought “oh ok cool!” And that was it. She was AGOG with the news and rather horrified.
I must once again emphasize that she was an incredibly online person. She’s a foodie and a restaurant blogger.
Later in the trip we were picking restaurants and I suggested one I found on Google, and she gasped at me. Actually gasped, asking how I could ever be okay picking that one.
The shock must’ve been on my face, because she then told me all of the shitty things that restaurateur does. He abuses staff. Underpays them. Fires them on a whim. Is known for being one of the worst people to his employees in the entire restaurant business on this coast.
And she was so shocked I had never heard of this. Because in her mind, I was just as online as her. And in her online world, EVERYONE knew about this guy.
So I think the moral of this story is: always approach the other person with some empathy. Even online people, even people you think MUST know about how bad people are, may not have heard. It may truly be just them being on a different sphere of the internet than you.
So be gentle, be kind when letting people know they might not have heard about the cancellation of XYZ person. Don’t assume that everyone knows all the same info as you.
By all means, let them know so they can make informed decisions, but being kind will go a lot further than attacking them for some info they might not know yet.
You're not immune to being the bully btw. You're not immune to being in the wrong
"But i'm-" there is no identity or state of being that makes you immune to hurting someone. You can be convinced that you are in the right for doing so. You can be convinced that you're defending someone by doing so. You have always got to examine if you're taking pleasure in hurting someone or if you're actually doing something good.

dose anyone else experience a phenomenon where, like i find something out it sounds neat i look into it and it will circle around in my head occasionally for weeks i will check if i read it right and the literal second i tell someone else about it, its like im suddenly transferred into 1 world over where the only difference is that that thing you learned was wrong or misleading and i only find out a few hours after contact with the person i just told about it has ended
happy halloween
or whatever respective holiday you have going on right now
am i the only one that pictures hornet as having lazels voice?
i know it dosnt quite match with the game but somehow it mentally works
the undertale anniversary, gersons extra dialog wear he talks about personally knowing one of the mages that sealed the barrier
a lot of people interpret romance, and i have nothing against it
but what if the mage was another trained/adopted buch lesbian
gerson just cosmically attracts buch lesbians in need of guidance
i think its a funny concept
do you ever think about how if someone made a book accurate frankenstien movie, the "monster" wold probably become a tumblr sexy man.
i think the description was something about parchment colored skin yellow eyes dark hair and generally uncanny vibes. i think there was a part that said something about the doctor trying to make a handsome man but even though he thought he found matching parts, in the end they sill looked wrong together. ( i imagine that he matched the skin colors but not the undertones so some parts are cool or neutral and other parts are warm toned)
not to mention he is philosophical, tragic, and in a portion of the story longing for belonging.
also i think the guy that played garalt of rivia should portray him
you may be able to edit a picture of garalt to be the true frankinstiens monster
where the fuck is everyone over 20, under 30
i cant find them also how dose anyone outside of school or work make friends even online it feels designed your sopossed to come in with a pre built friend group
