NOTE: one type of fold will rarely appear on its own - they interact with each other quite a bit! for example, spiral folds might define the outline of a pant leg, while the interior folds might be zig-zag folds.

i’m trying to re-learn how to draw clothing, so i made this little guide to the most common shapes of folds that appear. hope it helps someone else too!

A fox named Ferris is invited to an exciting holiday party, but things start to not go as he planned. Will he be able to make it? Based off of this painting, this 4-minute animatic features a complete story, nearly 200 drawings, and music by Foxfall. This is my first time ever doing an animatic, so I hope you enjoy it! :)

Ferris, my first ever animatic, will be posted tomorrow evening! :D For those who don’t know, an animatic are sequential drawings with sound and music, much like this one here for Zootopia (link), so it plays out just like an animated film, just without full-on animation.

So far Ferris has been really well-received from a some previews I’ve shown, so I’m really looking forward to showing all of you! It’s based off this (link) painting from last December. I’m a storyteller at heart. Creating an animatic story of my very own has been a dream of mine for a long time, and tomorrow you guys will finally be able to see that side of me. <3

Additionally, thank you in advance to Foxfall (aka. AJ), for volunteering to do the music and sound design, and doing such a brilliant job with it. This animatic wouldn’t be the same without his brilliant musical touch. So, stay tuned tomorrow evening for a special presentation. :)
