What personality type fits each vessel?
(Apollus and Jay having the same type is so funny to me, especially since they're characters I swapped Its also really funny that Acedia, Ayranor, and Ratau are all the same type)
For the Vessels: if they had a digimon partner who would it be?
Not wanting to be grumpy or anything, but has Tumblr changed the keyboard layout for leaving comments on mobile?
Where’s the damn comma Tumblr? I realise you feel legally compelled to treat everyone as if they are children, but I can assure you that even children can recognise a comma…

Cult of the Lamb - Mal origin animation WIP!
Here's a little test animation I'm doing for Mal's backstory, basically a little remake of an older comic I did! Showing the difference in quality before and now!

This is a HUGE reach but
I wonder if the Lamp Post Goose is teasing in the movie poster is relevant to the game The Beginner's Guide, Davey Wreden's lesser known second game after the stanely parable (which goose had said was a big influence.
For those not in the know, TBG is a surreal meta game about "Davey" compiling the games produced by a dev named Coda who he was supposedly friends with.
He spends the game running you through Coda's works and offering his interpretations on them as well as describing his and Coda's relationship, and telling us how Coda was like this tortured artist who eventually stopped making games due to creative frustration.
As you play Coda's games there's this lampost, and Davey opines on its meaning, up until the point where he reveals that the Lamposts were never actually part of the games, HE put them there because he felt they added more meaning to Coda's games and basically imposed his own views of the themes that he took away from the games, which deeply upset Coda.
"Davey" has a big falling out with Coda after he took Codas games and showed them to other people (something Coda strictly didnt want, but that "Davey" felt might help him be more confident about his work) but only lead him to seemingly stop making games
Until Coda sends him his final game, an intentionally frustrating and impossible game, that only after brute forcing around it anyways does Davey find a message addressed directly to him about how he poisoned game Development for Coda and he never wants to speak to him again
The lampost represents the injection of meaning, regardless of authorial intent, how this may or may not tie in to TADC im not sure, but I could see it maybe relating to Kinger and Scratch's relationship or Jax' with Ribbit perhaps, I guess we'll see.
Good insights!
On top of that after I wrote this I went back to listen to some of my favourite TBG think pieces plus some new ones that had been made since I last thought about it and got reminded of “Davey”’s final, desperate plea to Coda.
In this selfish ramble “Davey” admits that he hated himself, and that his only comfort was in the almost parasitic, pagent mom living through their child satisfaction that he got sharing Coda’s games, because as he says people started treating HIM like he was important for curating it to them, and that he finally liked himself, which is what lead him to start leaving his fingerprints all over them to make them more “playable” and more meaningful to HIS definition, instead of respecting the state that Coda wanted these games to be in and what they might’ve meant to him.
He talks about how he’s releasing the collection of games under his name to ‘reach’ Coda so he’ll continue making games again and both absolve “Davey” of his guilt and give him something to make him feel good about himself again, he starts getting more frantic and it’s clear he doesn’t actually care about Coda, he just NEEDS to have some quick fix to his shitty behaviour so that he can continue getting what he craves out of Coda and his work.
Specifically “Davey” has a line where he’s spiralling and is like “Please, please start making games again! Please help me, please give me some of whatever it is that makes you complete! I want whatever that wholeness that you summoned out of NOTHING and put into your work, you were complete in some way I never was, I want… I want to know how to be a good person, I want to know how not to hate myself! Please! I’m fading, and all I want to know is that it’s going to be okay,”
On top of this I was reminded of the extra layer of meta-textual analysis that we don’t even know for certain Coda’s gender, and that they might’ve been a woman, but that “Davey” is imposing this male identity on them as well, which I assume I don’t need to explain the significance of gender to TADC, so that could also potentially be another piece of the connection between these two stories.

MalAU - "All eyes on you"
Since becoming cursed, Mal's life in the cult changed rather drastically, adjusting to his new life from the other followers living keeping their distance after Mal's initial dissent against the Lamb, or the worry he'll eat someone due to his cursed state, given the history of cursed followers in the cult.
Is Leshy gonna notice Goat specifically named all his siblings but Narinder?
( I’m done Shiboyugi posting for now, who knows if I will more as more about Cloudy Beach comes out but like- watch Shiboyugi this is not optional straight up one of my new favourite anime ever)
Yeah okay, peak as fuck. As soon as this was announced I was on board because main girl's design is about as Joshcore as it gets, and as we got closer to release and saw a few more PVs it became obvious that this show was going to be a really interesting watch. Throw in a good friend hyping it up as well, yeah I'm definitely looking forward to it. And it was very good. Admittedly I haven't watched the majority of the season's premieres so this doesn't mean a lot but this is definitely my anime of the season at present and it really isn't close either. Your narrative setup is pretty straightforward with some details here and there and MC's characterisation keeping it refreshing, but it's the presentation more than anything that makes this really compelling. This show refuses to look boring, most of the time it really doesn't look like anything else happening in TV anime. The lineless artwork and tons of the shots are so particular, I can't really describe the headspace I was being put in but I couldn't look away. Music as well - there's very little but they're so deliberate in the musical cues and more than that the use of silence, it demands your attention in a really good way. I learned after the episode that this was by the days with my stepsister director, and will I did drop that show it had some crazy fucking unique and inventive cinematography and I'm really excited to see what this show will come up with as well. Excellent time. Friend won the adaptation lottery.
Trans win: The Death Game Tournament wherein the wealth revel in the torment of the desperate is trans inclusive!
(Well probably only inclusive to trans women since the game is played exclusively by cute girls but still)
Greetings y'all I have a new anime obsession:
Literally started watching shiboyugi only cuz I saw girls in maid dresses and my base instincts took over, but it's so good! For a death game anime it's so atmospheric and poignant, I'm really enjoying it.
Everyone and their mother had mentioned it already but I really like how it plays the appeal like, all the participants we've seen so far are girls and at the beginning of the game they are put in pretty outfits and HORRIBLE things happen to them but it's all censored out by irl ('') stuffing as if seeing actual blood would be too distasteful.
We are being made aware of the existence of the audience at every corner and how everything is directed to be more appealing and entertaining for this invisible audience (which is also us, the viewers, me pressing on first episode cuz of the maid dresses). They want to see these girls scared and suffering and panicking and DEAD but they don't want to see DEATH. They don't want to see the ugly process of it, the blood, the gore, the viscera. It's easier if the girls are just...dolls. Made for entertainment, pretty to look at, easy to discard and not think twice about. What died that day wasn't a human person who's blood and gory suffering you have to process, but just a doll, just a plaything. Death made easily digestible.
The same goes with the outfits they are put in which yes are there for appeal points and are there to fit the theme of the game, but also prevent the girls from appearing as people as well. Because the girls aren't dressed in THEIR clothes. They don't really get to bring in any part of their personality aside from maybe hair accessories. They are dressed up in the game aesthetic, their individuality erased, they are dolls made for this show and not real people with real lives and tastes and their own aesthetics.
I really like how much this show is telling us about the game and the viewers without ever openly discussing it.
