Need a strattland fic where Grace gets kidnapped during the project and stratt basically breaks down the door of every world leader to get him back. Like he goes missing and they get a ransom demand and then Stratt just vanishes for a week. Abandons the vat completely until she finds Grace and brings him back. And he’s spent the whole week telling his captors that they aren’t going to get any money for him because he’s not that important to the project (or anyone) and to please just let him go and then the navy seals or some shit rescue him and Stratt is waiting for him at the air field. And she acts like everything is normal, but she barely lets him out of her sight for like a month

It's actually so insanely important the way Thorim gifted Bilbo mithril. In that time Mithril was so fucking rare, the vein only found in Moria which was inaccessible. Mithril became priceless, even a piece of it was worth ten times it's weight in gold. For Thorin, in the hold of sickness that made him suspicious of everyone and his kin of taking his treasure and him revering it, for him to gift Bilbo a WHOLE coat of mithril in FRONT of witnesses as a TOKEN of his intentions ("friendship"). Hold me back. Imagine if Bilbo just walked around Dain (and other dwarves) and other Kings just casually mentioning this precious thing he was wearing was just something Thorin gave him. They would kneel over in shock. It. is. that. insane.

My favorite Lord of the Rings headcannon is just that the hobbits spent the entire trip to Rivendell, badgering Aragorn to eat like four annoying grandmothers. Like, Aragorn is a ranger who's been living off pine needles and power of will for the last decade, and these are the guys who are having eight square meals a day.

"Well now, Strider what would you have ol' Sam whip you up?"

"Nothing. I'm good."

"So just some toast and eggs then?"

"No. Nothing."

"You have to have *something*, here I'll make you some porridge."

"No! I'm not hungry."

"...Should I just reheat the leftovers then?"

And Aragorn is like "What's a leftover?" And all four of the hobbits just gasp in horror, and start muttering about no wonder he's so thin.
