I enjoy reading well written fanfiction, and accept all ships and plot bunnies, however ridiculous, provided I like the writing style. So, you will find canon ships as well as dramione, snamione, drarry and many more here.

Hi, I am helping a friend - I'm her beta (me ravenclaw, her slytherin) ;) she's writing a great fic called The Slytherin Heart on tumblr here: theslytherinheart but due to FF's limited tags we can't seem to get traction. It’s HP, but with Jane Austen & Bronte. Set against the political backdrop of revolutionary France in 1792 and the Tri-wizard Tournament, heirs of Slytherin try to make their way and find love. What are your thoughts on how to attract more readers?

The Changeling by Annerb

Probably the most powerful piece of fanfiction I've ever read. It is hard hitting and has the ability to make the reader uneasy. I've always wanted a Weasley to be sorted into another house. A Slytherin Ginny is perfectly written by Annerb. The growth of the character is brilliant. I believe I have learnt some very important things about life and people.

Give it a try if you want to read fanfiction that's not frivolous. Snape is also very well written as are a lot of OC's. If I were to rate it on Goodreads, I'd definitely give it a 5/5.

Ever thought about the possibility that Tom Marvolo Riddle aka Voldemort might have helped Ginny compose that poem in Chamber of Secrets.

Ginny: Tom, I can't find anything black that rhymes with toad. Help me here. It's going to be my first valentine with Harry Potter.

Voldemort: How about' um umm Blackboard.

Ginny: Thanks Tom, you are a lifesaver. What would I do without you?

Ginny closes the diary and gives it a hug.

Random ramblings #feelings

How miserable am I? That I have zero friends. And keep thinking about and remembering the ones I once had. I have since realised that those friendships were in my mind only. Once our course was over and we didn't have any more classes together, none of them called me, or messaged me, or picked my calls or replied to my messages. They didn't feel any need for me anymore, so they dumped their tutor xum proofreader nerdy friend, whom they were anxious to always keep near them earlier. I felt insignificant and weak and my confidence plummeted to zero. And then when I checked that some of them had removed me from their friendlists, I felt humiliated and deleted my social media accounts. Then when at some professional events I'd have to be in the same room as them, I'd feel that humiliation all over again, because they refused to even acknowledge that they had ever known me. It was like they could see through me and I didn't even exist. I was miserable then, and remember going to the washroom at the seminar venue to cry, then hide. But I learnt to be brave, learnt to act like their behaviour didn't affect me at all, and life went on. I was wary of people now and would not let anyone get close to me. I'd present this indifferent and cool and sophisticated persona on the outside while being miserable inside. This went on for years. Atlast, I passed the course we had begun together. I was the first one to do so, the youngest person from my state to pass that course, which would normally take many years, with being in the toppers list, and yet I only had my parents to share my happiness with. It's been years and even today, I feel like there's a huge hole somewhere in my life, and at times, it's so painful, that it's physically painful and I can't breathe.

But I am trying to get better. Am getting better, have stopped dwelling on the past so much. Being in the same room as those jerks still hurts, but the pain has surely dulled. Fanfiction has helped me much. By showing how small changes can have led the story differently, it encouraged me to make those changes in my life. It told me that some people were bithces,,and its not your fault, thatedemption arc is possible, that you can find happiness,that it's okay to feel depressed, but it's also possible to get better. My improvement has had a lot to do with all those wonderful stories, which taught me more about life than anybody. And slowly, I am trying to put an effort to trust people again, to lower the walls I've built around me. I know I could get hurt again, but for the first time in around nine years, I'm willing to take that risk in the pursuit of happiness.

My TBR pile or the currently reading pile has toppled over on my face, straight from these shelves, leaving me with a painful nose for more than one day.

I have since reversed my position on the bed. Now my feet lie near those piles and my nose is safe. Ha!

Rebuilding by @colubrina

I'd already read Things in common, the wrong strain, No greater love, without her letter, the muddy princess, the history project, lady of the lake and the green girl, all by Colubrina. All of these were much liked by me. But I was a little wary of rebuilding, because of having a lot of chapters. But turns out, it wasn't that long. The number of chapters were many, but the chapters were short and fresh. So if anyone hasn't read it because of its length, don't worry at all.

Rebuilding is an amazing and refreshing piece of work. Thank you @colubrina for this gem. I read it during Diwali and it definitely made my holidays full of warmth. I have decided on reading Pygmalion next. It will be my first tomione and I know it would be great.

Fanfiction recommendation

Restoring Hope by alchymie.

Among the plethora of next generation fanfiction, this one is a relatively less known gem. Hope Weasley is the daughter of Ron Weasley, now married to Luna, and war heroine Hermione Granger; except that she isn't. It deviates from canon, but their way of finding the Hufflepuff cup is definitely original, and way better than canon. Give it a try. You won't regret it.

Weasley is Her King

This is the most adorable conversation between Luna Lovegood and her father, after he hears her singing Weasley is our king. She talks of how she likes Ronald, but he likes Hermione instead. And he tries to reassure her. It's fluff with just a pinch of sadness. It's very Luna.

The one thing that has always irked me is that Sirius Black, the notorious mass murderer, could access his Gringotts vault to get his godson a broom. I mean, criminals having access to money and the Ministry doesn’t care? Even though they had deployed dementors in a school. Strange.

DENIAL by little beloved

I have read a lot of fanfiction and a lot of it is repetition. This piece of fanfiction came to me as a breath of fresh air. It is indeed one of the best execution of the marriage law trope.

Adultery is one of those few things I am not fond of in fanfiction works, but it is treated quite sensibly in this story.

It is slow burn sevmione and definitely one of the better works I've read in a while.
