Working on some more skeklings for some skeksis ships. These three are some Shod/Zok ones, all from the same clutch. skekGon the Seer(He can’t actually see the future, he’s just very perceptive and smart enough to connect the dots and guess at what would happen if A and B were true sort of deal), skekPhar the Physician(Pronounced like the beginning of Pharaoh) in her court clothing, and skekNim the Embalmer.

Hi, I'm glad you're enjoying my blog. And ooh another work relationship ask! I know I did one for So and Ekt, but not for Ayuk. So let's see here:

Unlike many of the other Skeksis, skekSo and skekAyuk don't regularly work together. Which, from hearing what skekEkt had to put up with, the Gourmand was thankful for.

This didn't mean his life was easy, however. The Emperor has a picky palate who also expects new types of food be served 4 - 6 times a day. And skekAyuk, like all the other Skeksis, knew you don't want to get on skekSo's bad side which doesn't help his already existing anxiety.

It was much harder for the Gourmand during the early days of the Skeksis reign when skekAyuk actually tried cooking all of the meals. Coming up with new recipes was always natural to him, but he had to tailor a lot to skekSo's unpredictable tastes which also included a variety of different kinds of meals.

Sometimes skekSo will randomly come into the main kitchen and demand the food to be ready that instant or that he needs to double the amount of food for a feast at the last minute, only adding to skekAyuk's stress.

This is one of the reasons, including the Skeksis' high metabolism, skekAyuk cut corners and serve food raw which the others never seemed to mind either way.

Not all of it was bad: skekAyuk actually loved the abundance of food he was serving which also meant more food for him. In a way, it was an indirect mutual benefit for both him and skekSo.

Whenever skekSo entered the kitchen, skekAyuk offered him a sample to try. If skekSo liked it, the Gourmand would double or triple the dish for the Emperor. This didn't always mean the Emperor would eat it, though.

SkekSo actively kept his distance from skekAyuk when he can because he thought his table manners were disgusting. Which is quite hypocritical for the Emperor to think as his were just as bad.

I have an old file of some of the urskeks I was designing in my spare time, decided to start redrawing them starting with these two. They were a personal chef and personal tailor to the same upper-class household, which is how they met. Of course I ship Ayuk/Ekt, so their urskeks had to be together.

AyukAmaj’s cropped tail and shaved hands are due to their line of work, don’t want to get in the way of other kitchen staff or get fur in the food.

The Hatching - Part 1

After SkekSa left, SkekSo and urSu are alone with three little eggs. As the days go by Skekso gets even more nervous about the babies… which something what SkekSil tries to exploit.

Hello! First… sorry for the late update. My covid-vacine was a bit of a torture and I had a hard time finding myself. -.-

In this comic, I will show the hatching of the triplets. So i can draw cuties again :3

As for context: SkekSo has heavy Thra-PTSD. After the events on the ship, he is a bit convinced the universe always dishes him bad things, so having babies is something what gets him super terrified. Also the distrust Sil successfuly plants in him is coming from the past with Shi too. Shortly: SkekSo was a slave on the ship, who managed to fight himself out from that position and with that came a desperation to be powerful again. He was super jealous of SkekShi’s close friend SkekTrok, who was strong and powerful. Having his old mindset, SkekSo being jealous is really dangerous. He managed to kill SkekTrok, but Sil betrayed him to Shi. SkekShi was forced to send SkekSo to jail, because a low-rank skeksis can’t kill a higher-rank by the law. Then Sil even found out, that Shi courted So the first place, because she wanted children from the old urSkeks blood to please her mother the Empress. None of them expected, that they will really like each other. No matter how Shi or So tried to salvage the situation, the group had to flee from the ship. SkekSo never believed they managed to make babies.

As for Sil in this story, he hates Shi, because she is an alien intruder on his old “hunting ground” and he does not have centuries of knowledge about her. So manipulating her is something Sil is not sure about. With good reason, because Shi was reminded of her upbringing in the court of Homeworld by him and the moment he hit the manipulating-tone, she punched him senseless. Sil still tries to get back at Shi and remove her from the “group”, that’s why he tries to hurt the babies from this point.
