Ok - I have to call timeout - he has a lakehouse near his parents and if Shane’s parents/grandparents had a lake house then I can’t see any conceivable way that Shane doesn’t know how to swim - like if you grow up by the water, it’s just such a basic safety thing. Like little baby Shane was getting thrown to the lake to Yuna in a lifejacket when he was a toddler and without a lifejacket when he was 4

but Shane pretending like he doesn’t know how to swim as an excuse to hang all over Ilya in a pool and get gently led around by Ilya and getting praised for being brave when he’s just floating is incredible

and using it to stay out of the lake (the weird sensations of murky freshwater plants and the gag-inducing sensation if he gets touched by a fish) is dear to me

That's the part that really makes it so terrible. It's so freaking obvious, so right out there in front of our faces, so obviously corrupt, and it's just... getting a pass.

Like, the only way it would be more corrupt, more obvious, would be if they loudly declared "I am doing a crime!" while signing the paperwork.
