breaking my silence to say that people are allowed to say they don’t like the vibe of some of dan and phil’s newer content… im rly tired of seeing “but they’re experimenting” being thrown around as if people aren’t allowed to say they don’t like the things d&p are trying out. and actually I’ve gotta say it’s been EIGHT MONTHS since the rebrand. even if they’re still occasionally doing new video concepts, one thing that isn’t experimental anymore is the overall direction the channel has gone and how produced/inorganic (meaning planned) some of their content has become. it’s been that way since the rebrand because that’s when they hired a gen z producer who is coming up with video ideas for them and a gen z social media person who is telling them what tiktoks to make. because that’s when d&p decided they’re trying to appeal to mainstream gen z people because ….? idk. and i say this as someone who is gen z lmao. anyway im not saying d&p’s new content is complete shit or disingenuous, but it IS different than what they were doing even a year ago and it IS more produced than it ever has been. and people are allowed to say they don’t like it as much as their older content, it doesn’t matter if dan and phil are ““experimenting”” why should that mean people have to swallow it and act like they love it? sometimes people just wanna see dan and phil sit down and play a card game, bc maybe they don’t enjoy watching d&p look at tweets where they jump from one to the next in 2.5 seconds. and if you do like that, it’s fine!! you are allowed to like content of this style! but a lot of people fell in love with dan and phil’s content for them and their banter and their originality and it’s ok for said people to say that’s been lacking recently
