new things we have learned about harry potter today #001

theme: marauders map

-the graphic designer who made the hand-writing for the MM is Miraphora Mina. all of it was handwritten

-to make the map look aged, the designers of the map in a water and coffee powder blend. they then sprinkled on coffee grounds on it.

-the design team (called MinaLima) gave the map dozens of folds and layers so they could show how every time you opened something, “it was as though you were uncovering another layer of hogwarts”

-sometimes the map was a physical prop, a small green screen, or a mix of a prop and cgi

-the ‘mooney’ instead of ‘moony’ on the map is an inside joke referencing the visual effect supervisor Karl Mooney who worked on the film

-Rus Wetherhell animated the whole credits (which are 11 minutes in today) by hand. it took him more than 700 hours to accomplish this

-along with Newt Scamander, some other easter eggs in the credits include a ‘Stink Bomb Store’ or a ‘Book of Monster Repair Workshop’, and when the credits go to people who worked with animals in the movie, the footprints become animal prints

so that was some new info! go into the wide world and share it aplenty!

since children’s first words are usually ‘mama’ or ‘dada’ or whatever, many people assume its because of the fact that their parents urge them to say ‘mommy’ or ‘daddy’. while this may certainly be true, i would like to argue that babies know how to say ‘o’ instead of ‘a’. therefore, my theory is that all children are saying something else that they think is the right word but isn't. profanity. the names of their favorite cartoon characters. hell, maybe even names of car brands, idk. thank you for coming to my tedtalk.

clone wars thought

somehow i have delved into being a star wars account but whatever, i dont care. probably will make a blog for my star wars posts soon.

i just realized while watching clone wars (great show btw) that if it were not for palpatine and the entire being on top of both sides but preferring one, the jedi and the clone army would actually be one of the greatest armies in history.

we've heard of how leaders just didnt care about the people. hell, the great wall of china was literally sometimes built upon the dead bodies of the workers who worked and died on the great wall.

meanwhile, the clones are literally MANUFACTURED. yet they are still so individual, even to the leaders. (at least the good ones)

you almost cry when fives dies. why? because his brothers gave him a personality. we never saw where clones were buried or taken to, but i sure as hell know they are buried as well as normal people are.

if it had not been for palpatine, the clones would be one of the best-run armies of all human history. except they are from a cartoon network tv show.
