Solo imaginen su primer encuentro:
Primero que nada, edades. Me gusta la idea de que Damian Wayne es mayor, así que así sera. Damian 15 y Billy 14.
Damian llega en su gloria de chico gruñón y superior al resto a un sitio que realmente se mantiene en pie por donaciones (y magia divida de Billy, pero no es que él lo sepa).
Billy, sin quererlo tropieza con el por cargar cajas de x cosa, nada se rompe y se disculpa mientras levanta las cajas. Damian lanza un comentario de "ser inferior con baja capacidad motora" o algo así, lo que enciente el interruptor de Bily de "Servicio a la comunidad boy scout" a "Servicio a la comunidad rompe culos de ricos y más ricos".
Billy responde con un comentario ingenioso lo que desestabiliza a Damian porque "... es Damian Wayne. Hijo de sangre de Bruce Wayne y bla bla...". En el tiempo que ha estado con su padre nadie suele responderle. Dami lanza una mirada a nivel "liga de asesinos" y Billy lo mira con el apoyo de "Me han golpeado gente más grande y peligro de lo que serás". Damian quiere abalanzarse sobre el y romperle esos lindos dientes y Billy quiere romper su atractiva nariz.
Se crea una tensión hasta que llega Bruce y la encargada. Ella debe ser una mujer viejita, tipo abuela que te da dulces cuando te sientas mal o haces algo amable y te pegara con un paraguas si haces algo estúpido abuelita. Saluda al nuevo voluntario y presenta a Billy como su compañero que capacitara al nuevo. A su vez, Billy comienza a rezar a sus dioses para que eliminen a este chico. Mientras Damian, se niega a tomar como referencia a un idiota que no sabe caminar.
Por poderes del guion se convencen y comienzan a interactuar. Me gusta la idea de Damian siendo un idiota más idiota conforme va conociendo la amabilidad, atención y nobleza de Billy Batson. Mientras que, Billy le atrae la fuerza, fidelidad y lo fácil que es conversar con Damian.
Just imagine their first meeting:
First of all, ages. I like the idea of Damian Wayne being older, so that’s how it’s gonna be. Damian is 15 and Billy is 14.
Damian arrives in all his grumpy, superior-to-everyone glory at a place that is honestly only keeping its doors open thanks to donations (and Billy’s divine magic, though Damian obviously doesn't know that).
Billy accidentally trips and bumps into him while carrying boxes of whatever, but nothing breaks. He apologizes while picking the boxes back up. Damian drops a comment along the lines of him being an "inferior being with low motor skills," which instantly flips Billy’s switch from "helpful Boy Scout community service" to "ready to kick rich people's asses community service."
Billy snaps back with a witty comeback, which completely throws Damian off because... he is Damian Wayne. Blood son of Bruce Wayne and blah blah blah. In all the time he’s spent with his father, nobody ever talks back to him. Dami throws him a full-blown "League of Assassins" death glare, and Billy just looks back at him with the sheer confidence of "I've been hit by people way bigger and more dangerous than you'll ever be." Damian wants to lung at him and smash those pretty teeth of his, and Billy wants to break his attractive nose.
The tension builds until Bruce and the lady in charge finally show up. She’s one of those sweet little old ladies—the grandma type who gives you candy when you're sad or do something nice, but will absolutely beat you with an umbrella if you do something stupid. She welcomes the new volunteer and introduces Billy as his partner, the one who will be training him. Right then and there, Billy starts praying to his gods to just delete this kid. Meanwhile, Damian refuses to take pointers from an idiot who doesn't even know how to walk.
Through the literal power of the script, they are convinced to work together and start interacting. I love the idea of Damian becoming even more of a dummy the more he gets to know Billy Batson's kindness, attentiveness, and nobility. On the flip side, Billy finds himself drawn to Damian's strength, loyalty, and how surprisingly easy it is to actually talk to him.
