Today marks 2 years and 6 months of sobriety, and it happens to fall on Friday the 13th, a day long associated with transformation, cycles, and rebirth. I can’t help but reflect on the deeper symbolism of this moment. My path has never been about avoiding darkness; it has been about moving through it and emerging changed.

With my North Node in Scorpio, transformation has been a constant teacher in my life. Scorpio energy is about shedding skins, facing shadow, and rising stronger after what feels like an ending. Again and again, I have been asked to release what no longer serves me and step into a truer version of myself.

The phoenix has become a symbol that lives deeply within me; The reminder that sometimes we must burn away the old to make space for new life.

Sobriety has not simply been the absence of alcohol. It has been a reclamation of my spirit, my clarity, and my connection to life itself. Over these past two and a half years, I have rebuilt from the inside out. Learning to sit with my emotions, to choose presence over escape, and to honor the quiet strength it takes to keep going.

Today I honor the journey, the growth, and the resilience that carried me here. I honor the cycles that ended and the self that was reborn. And I honor the rising phoenix within me, still unfolding, still healing, still becoming.

As above, so below. As within, so without as the universe, so the soul. So mote it be.
