Mildly angsty idea: Mc who hates their appearance actually finding comfort and relief in wearing the veil, only for them to have that ripped away once the disguise gets ruined. Bonus points if the first time they see themself after baring their face again is around the other ROs so everyone can see how uncomfortable Mc suddenly is with reflections/mirrors. Love a little self hate and unfounded shame.

Stygian Sun is also one of the Interactive Fiction games that I will scream from the rooftops that it’s so so good and everyone should play it. The author/dev puts so much love into these characters and you can tell from the way they talk about their characters on their dev blog that they truly care about them and this world they’ve made. The grief written into MC’s character is portrayed uniquely for each personality option and it bleeds into every line of Act One with such intensity that you can feel it like you’re the one whose family has died. It’s so beautifully written and the characters are endearing and I love it so much it deserves more attention than it already has

And I also love the core theme and question of the story, which is “Tomorrow, your sibling will die. You know because you have seen the future with your own eyes. Even knowing that the future is written in stone, do you still try to save them?” and the entire game is an resounding answer of Yes, of course.
