I started using photo bashing to make really cool fits for my oc: Maud! It’s been a fun exercise to spice up my digital painting skills! I liked warping different armor pieces to make the helmet, and painting all the lil details for this one!

unfortunately very true. Doing Better does not always mean never being upset or never being triggered or never having trouble. often Doing Better means experiencing those things and being able to keep going/cope healthily/move on. if you’re in a bubble with no sensation, if you’re numbing yourself out, that’s not what recovering really is. it won’t help you have a happier life it’ll just make your world smaller and smaller until you can’t fit anywhere anymore. gotta learn to make peace with the hard stuff too, that’s the only way to keep going
We tried to warn you about the "adult content" bans. Now Kickstarter is starting that shit
"It must have serious value!"
Staight-up sounds like obscenity law/Miller Test-type crap.
So fucking pissed off at this. Those terms are so damn slippery and unenforceable.
And this is honestly so much more infuriating given how long Kickstarter has held the stance of "products are the responsibility of the project creator, not us, we have no liability." If you get scammed on a project Kickstarter won't help you, they say you assumed the risk when you agreed to back a project for something that wasn't real yet. But now they're turning around and doing this? Why am I allowed to assume the risk of not getting the product I back, but not seeing the scary scary sExUAl cONteNt?
Sent a long message to Kickstarter about this. If you would like to do the same, here is their contact page: https://help.kickstarter.com/hc/en-us/requests/new. Please be respectful in your comments, screaming at them will not fix anything.
Once you submit your comment, you will get an email from support asking you to verify that you sent it. You must click this link for the comment to go through! It's a spam protection thing they have.
Very well said and might I add: a... anything and everything can be sexually gratifying to anyone. How would they even apply these checks if I say "naaaaahhhh fam, I definitely did nOT create this thing specifically for gratification"?? How would they even know if I made a zine about purple umbrellas with frogs painted on purely for the sexual gratification of myself and a select few? lol
And - for the nth time - I don't know how to tell this to terminally online purity culture people but sexual gratification is part of the life of the majority of people on Earth. If we keep repressing this in ways of such plaforms enforcing rules against it, it's gon' be reaaaal unhealthy out there, real soon! (Already is. Just saying.)
Yep, that's a lot of what my message sent to them covered. And how this will disproportionately effect queer people.
Kickstarter's COO stated that the now-reverted NSFW guidelines were put in place due to campaigns being 'suspended by Stripe mid-funding'
Please start that project you're thinking about. Post it anywhere you can. Let people see the art you can bring to the world. Please, I want to see it. Just type that first word. I believe in you!
For this month's @color-palettes I did a ballet dancer character inspired by a real ballet dancer name Asher Edwards who is a non-binary ballet dancer who is train in both men and women parts in ballet.

THIS. I saw a post the other day that literally said if you do it to a fictional character, you’ll do it in real life.
No. Just NO.
I’m so glad someone put it into words.
In art, we can be fucking nuts.

making the radical claim "11 year old children should be taught how to make extremely simple food" has resulted in people making arguments like "I wasnt allowed to plug in electronics until I was 16 and I think this is super normal actually" and "children dont know what ratios are so its unfair to expect them to be able to comprehend the idea of adding equal amounts rice and water to a rice cooker" and I gotta say originally I thought maybe I was being too judgy but now I feel very secure in my opinion because what the fuck
I start making muffins with kids at age 4 or 5 (I put them in the oven and take them out, and they will often need help cracking eggs until they've had a lot of practice. They will also make a huge mess). Seven year olds, standing on an appropriate child stepstool, should be able to do most of the process of cooking noodles on the stove if an adult is in the kitchen supervising. (An adult should turn on the stove and drain the noodles but the child can stir the noodles under supervision.) They should be fully proficient at basic microwave cooking and reheating if they live in a house that has a microwave.
An eleven year old (assuming no serious disabilities) not being able to use a rice cooker is ridiculous. When I was eleven I was cooking roast dinners for my family because they didn't get home from work until seven, and baking packet mix cakes to share with the farm workers on weekends. The average eleven year old shouldn't be put in charge of the family's cooking but they should be able to do it. They should have the capabilities to cook, just not the regular responsibility. Teach your children basic life skills it's like the main job of a parent after keeping them safe and healthy.
#I'm regularly pissed off at my mother because she didn't teach me any basic skills like that#oh I knew how to use a microwave#but that was about it#I didn't know jack about cleaning or organising either#I wasn't allowed to do any of that at home coz it wouldn't be done as well as she would#I wish they still had classes in school#cooking and sewing and home management and DIY#“young people don't know anything nowadays”#maybe you should have taught them then?
Don't worry, you can still learn as an adult! There are so many beginner cooking shows, youtube series, and books out there!
