In all fairness to Darry, Johnny wasn’t usually the target of his frustration. He wasn’t used to this kind of heat, he’d rather Darry just got angry with him like he did to Steve. He thinks he could handle getting socked better than he could handle the pointed away Darry closed the front door and stomped off the porch. Nobody would ever touch Johnny, he was the gang’s pet. Nobody had many expectations for him. They just wanted him to stay out of trouble. That was hard for a kid on this side of town.

❝He just expects us to be good, that’s all.❞ Johnny feels the need to defend the eldest Curtis, despite the current tension between them. He was always doing that, trying to defuse animosity between everyone. He was the true middle child of the gang, just like Sodapop. Part of him feels guilty knowing that Darry has a perfectly valid reason to be sore with him. Darry despised Buck Merril and his rigged rodeo betting scheme, thought of him as a true criminal and not just another hood like the rest of them. Johnny wanted money, that was all, Buck always had a lot of money. It just seemed logical to ask him for a job. ❝Nobody can be good all the time. Not even me.❞

my bff alexa got arrested at the lancaster protests last night. she's a black trans woman and currently being held at county. bail hasn't been set yet but looks like it may be one million like the other's that got picked up. friends and i are trying to get the bail lowered so we can get her home. needless to say if things go south in our attempts to lower bail, i will be making a gofundme for her.

just over the weekend a lot of my closest friends ( that including my bff chrissy ) all got tear gassed and my friend james had to go to the hospital after getting hit with rubber bullets. everyone is thankfully okay but my dear alexa is in jail & i need all the good vibes to get her bail lowered as i can get. alexa needs all the good vibes she can get.
