Here are a couple of my tattoos. I need your help for my next one! I know it’s a long post, but please bear with me.

I need some help with Kryptonian translations, and I would really appreciate it if any fellow Supergirl lovers could help me out. Here’s the situation. I want to get a tattoo in Kryptonian that has one word to represent the following characters: Kara, Alex, Maggie, and Lena. I’ve chosen these four words: Hope. Strength. Bravery. Intelligence. 

I’ve been doing research online, and I have realized that there are some variations in the Kryptonian that is used in different things. I would like to have it as closely match the Kryptonian used in the show Supergirl (or in Supergirl comics) as possible. I have found some online translators as well as some of the individual words, but I just…am not sure if what I am finding is correct. Can anyone please help? Or suggest a reliable source? I’m just not sure which sources to trust. 

Also, please don’t tell me I shouldn’t get a fandom-related tattoo. (I will happily accept ideas on other words I could maybe use to represent those four fantastic ladies because why not?) I already have multiple fandom-related tattoos, and I love them all. See above photos for examples. Fandom will always be a part of my life. I married my wife during a panel at a comic con. People cosplayed for our wedding. Beautiful, framed fan art adorns our walls. If anyone can help, I send all of my gratitude.

yeah theres no way to stop using amazon completely because they own so many things and many websites use them for hosting, but audible is something we really dont need. amazon is already trying to replace public libraries with “audible amazon libraries” and we cant let that happen. your libraries are already payed for with taxes ((though normally way underfunded because politicians normally dont care enough)) 

use libby or overdrive for audiobooks or ebooks, support libraries and buy from their used books sale (ive scored so many awesome books, and old books! as well as some great cds and movies) , and many libraries also mail out books!! theres so many options and libraries are always changing to make themselves more accessible for everyone, so support them! theyre such an important part of your community.

Election Results - Firsts for Women

I know that there are some disappointments with the election results, but there were also a lot of firsts for women. For example, for the first time in history, more than 100 women have been elected to the House of Representatives.

I tried to compile a list of some of the other firsts for women from the election. Each one mentions the woman’s name, where she won the election, and what news station the headline is from in case anyone wants to find the full article.

Also, Davids identifies as a lesbian, which makes her the first openly LGBTQ+ member of Congress from Kansas. (Fun fact: she’s also a former MMA fighter.) She was elected in New York. Haaland was elected in New Mexico.

The women in the photo above are Ilhan Omar and Rashida Tlaib. Omar was elected in Minnesota, and she is the first Somali-American woman to have ever been elected to Congress. Tlaib was elected in Michigan, and she is the first Palestinian-American woman to be elected to Congress.

Ocasio-Cortez was elected in New York.

Her name is Jane Elliott. She was a former schoolteacher, now she’s anti-racism activist, feminist and LGBT activist. She’s tiny, mean, and boss as fuck.

She’s known for her “blue eyes-brown eyes experiment” where she divides a group of volunteers from the blues and the browns. The minute the people walk in, the blue-eyes know they’re not welcomed. She makes them wait in a separate room, gives them shitty chairs, bad food, and shows them less respect. And (obviously) it causes all sorts of discomfort and rage, but that’s precisely her point. It doesn’t help that most blue-eyed volunteers happen to be white as well. Sometimes they get the message, sometimes they don’t and leave, sometimes crying or screaming. And Jane Elliott says that’s exactly what minorities want to do everyday of their lives, but they simply cannot do.

Did I mention she’s boss as fuck?

(2/2) “Mom tried her best to pay for flight school, but we kept running out of money.  I’d have to drop out for a few weeks, and since flying involves so much muscle memory, it would take me a while to get back on track.  So one day I bought a stack of magazines and newspapers.  I went through every page and cut out the advertisements.  Then I opened my pantry and wrote down every brand I could find.  I sent all of them letters, asking for help.  Almost everyone said ‘no.’  But I did receive an amount from a grocery store called Pick-n-Pay.  And Breitling sent me a brand new watch to raffle.  That was a huge break.  I sold six hundred raffle tickets.  Things were going so well.  African Pilot Magazine promoted the raffle for free.  A man from Australia bought 100 tickets.  But then I got a letter from the Lottery Board ordering me to end my raffle.  They said it was illegal.  I tried to explain that I was raising money for my education, but they didn’t care.  I was so disappointed.  I’d have to sit out another year of flight school.  But when I called everyone to explain the situation, nobody would accept their money back.  They told me to keep it!  It was enough to keep me in the air for months.  Then around Christmas that year, one of my mentors invited me to eat lunch at the airport.  When I stepped out of the car, everyone who had ever helped me was there.  They all started clapping.  And somebody handed me the phone.  A person on the other end said: ‘You’re live on 94.7, and we’re going to pay for your entire education!’  That was nearly four years ago.  I just got my license last week.  My plan is to fly for South African Airlines, but first I want to do some teaching.  I want to visit schools in black neighborhoods.  I want all the kids to see what an African female pilot looks like.” (Johannesburg, South Africa)
