Undyne just… stared at the human, not knowing how to respond to that. In her defense, she’d never actually encountered a human before, but this was still….. not what she expected. Alphys would probably want her to ask a million questions, but the girl looked too freaked out to talk about giant swords right now.
So instead she continued to look at her in complete bafflement at the not-answer to her question.
“What do you mean you’re a GHOST???”

10 reasons why Ash’s Bulbasaur is basically Batman
1. Both are orphans
2. Both are friendly and kindhearted but very serious and sometimes aggressive when there’s trouble.
3. Both volunteered to devote their lives to protect the weak.
While Batman is protecting Gotham City, Ash’s Bulbasaur used to protect a village full of weak and injured Pokemon from bad guys, and later on, he’s protecting Pokemon and keeping peace at Oak’s lab all day and night.
4. Both have been in multiple romantic relations, but nothing came out of any of that (Gloom and May’s Bulbasaur).
5. Both are teachers. Just like how Batman trained Robin and others, Bulbasaur trained May’s Bulbasaur who even evolved to Venusaur under his training.
There’s an entire episode of Ash’s Bulbasaur and his pupil May’s Bulbasaur working together to defeat Team Rocket. It’s also interesting that Ash’s Bulbasaur didn’t like May’s Bulbasaur immature behavior to the point he scolded her to be more responsible. Just like Batman and Robin.
6. Both would sacrifice their lives to save others
Just like how Batman almost died saving people, Ash’s Bulbasaur almost died saving an Oddish from a falling boulder.
7. Both have self-related phobias.
Batman has a phobia of bats, while Bulbasaur is afraid of its own evolution, Venusaur, as seen in three episodes where he stands in fear facing a Venusaur and a Gastly (who kept creating illusions to scare people and pokemon), used an illusion Venusaur to scare Bulbasaur off.
8. Both enjoy many incredible wide feats and skills
Including skills in Leadership, Management, diplomatic, peacekeeping, ability to improvise and learn new moves on the field.
They have so much charisma that they gain the respect of everyone around him, even the stronger characters.
Both also rely on strategy and thinking over brute force in battles.
Not many Pokemon or superheroes are like this.
9. Both don’t care about power gaps and full of themselves
Batman never let it down when facing some of the most powerful villains in his universe, even Darkseid despite having no superpowers like the other Justice League members.
Ash’s Bulbasaur didn’t care about Charizard being more powerful, fully evolved and having 4x resistance to his moves in a fight trying to protect Squirtle.
10. Secret homes
Nobody knows about the Batcave except Batman family, and nobody knows about the Secret Garden except Bulbasaur family. And both have their own security too.
Batcave has advanced security systems that don’t allow anyone unauthorized to enter the Batcave while the Secret Garden is protected by the entire forest with vines that blocks routes and even attack humans.
Both locations have never been visited by humans, well until Ash and the other accidentally found the Secret Garden while looking for his Bulbasaur.
Bonus: Razor Leaf is also basically a Batarang.
