As part of my positivity mindset for 2021, I started working on my vision board this past weekend. I know the year hasn’t started out the best but I know that things will get better so I need to focus on all the things that I want to achieve this year. Barely 2 weeks into 2021 and it’s not looking much better than last year. I know I’m not the only one that’s struggling through all of this. Between virtual schooling for the kids, stay at home orders, winter blues, etc, etc it’s a lot for us all to process. However, this time around I’m going to try my best to not fall into the bad habits and funk like I did last time. I’m going to try find positives instead of negatives each day, schedule lots of video calls with friends, get outside and enjoy nature and most importantly ask for help if I need it. Today was the first day back from being off work for 2 weeks and I am beat. Granted, I slept in everyday I was off and had a lot of naps too, so I knew today would be rough. There was nothing normal about this year, so why have a normal Christmas dinner? It’s just the boy and I, so instead of a turkey and all that goes with it, we enjoyed a Christmas charcuterie. Presents are wrapped, groceries have been bought and all I need is for the boy to come home and Christmas will be as complete as it will be this year. Sadly, plans to visit my parents/brother have been cancelled but thanks to technology we will still get to see them everyday. Going to take some time away from the screen for next week or so because with lockdown coming, I’ll have plenty of time to scroll then. Day 12 - @cupcakesnstuds And our last but certainly not least local shop is @cupcakesnstuds. This girl makes the tastiest and most gorgeous cakes and desserts I have ever tasted. You give her a theme and she can create something even better than you can ever imagine. And her Sugar Cube boxes are filled with the most decadent of treats. Day 10 - @exoticknacks Looking for some different and unique treats for the stockings? Look no further than @exoticknacks in Whitby. They have all kinds of snacks from all over the world. The boy is obsessed with Roo’s, which is a licorice snack from Australia and I am able to get my American @hersheys bars there too. Day 9 - @comicbookaddictionwhitby If you have kids that love Pokémon, Yu-Gi-Oh or anything comic related, then @comicbookaddictionwhitby is the local place to go for a great selection of gift and stocking stuffer ideas. My son has spent many an hour there and I have spent many a $$ there. Day 8 - @spitupandsippycups & @e2e.apparel Sorry took a couple days of the ‘gram and unplug a bit. So today is a perfect day to highlight two small business that live under the same roof. Lisa from @spitupandsippycups is an Empowerment Coach that helps women live their most inspired life. She acknowledges mental health challenges not only in others lives but her own as well. Pure authenticity here. And her partner, Jon at @e2e.apparel , has created a clothing line that stands for equality, inclusion and sharing space.
