Oh gosh. I will be ABSOLUTELY happy to share, but as a heads-up… this fic is going to go to a dark, dark place. XD
But since I am completely and utterly shameless… how about a snippet just in case? ^_~
The fic takes place kind of mid-episode 7ish and deals with the aftermath (and possibly flashbacks to) Lin Xiuya’s capture. I’m assuming that a few days (at least) pass between Xiao Yan rescuing Lin Xiuya and the fight that breaks out in the laundry house. Because I’m assuming that at least a LITTLE recovery time is necessary between “severely injured” and “kicking ass and taking names.” So. ^_^
A short, sharp cry broke the silence of the dorm. Xiao Yan was on his feet a moment later, his current failed attempt at sleep already long forgotten as he crossed the room. Was it a mercy that Lin Xiuya never woke when his body fought this particular battle, over and over again, in his sleep? Xiao Yan didn’t know. He only wished he could do more than sit by his side and try to will him into a more restful slumber every night.
As Xiao Yan took up his customary place, another sharp whimper burst out of Lin Xiuya’s throat, and he began to toss fitfully in place, hands twisting tightly in the bed linens. Xiao Yan reached out, covered one of those shaking hands with his own, gently trying to rub the tension out of it. Sometimes he succeeded. More often than not, he didn’t.
If only Xiao Yan had been faster.
If only Xiao Yan hadn’t taken so long.
Maybe he could have prevented this.
Lin Xiuya jerked his hand out of Xiao Yan’s grip, rolling away from Xiao Yan and into a tight ball on his side. His hands trembled and shook where they clutched at the covers. Xiao Yan pulled his own hands back, letting them drop into his lap, useless.
“…he’s getting worse. Isn’t he?”
