@reddurcs
being sad and horny is a privilege
I just want you all to know i am planning to drive across the country to steal this street sign and hang it over my toilet
Dont announced your crimes over unsecured channels dumbass
I've spent the past month cooped up in a motel in Orange County planning my theft, before I steal the sign I will set off a cache of fireworks I've placed 5 blocks away from the nearest police station which will rain down on the pigs, the perfect diversion.
we gotta get back to torrent distribution, i just watched someone eat eight grand in bandwidth charges because they ran a direct-download piracy site with local file hosting through cloudflare. torrents were invented literally for this exact reason
torrents work like this
i have a file or folder on my pc that i want to share with other people. let's call it gayshit.mp3
unfortunately gayshit.mp3 is 750mb and im not paying for discord nitro so i need another way to send it
i put it into qbittorrent and it makes a torrent file. this is essentially a very small file that points to gayshit.mp3 so other computers can find it. kinda like a treasure map
i send this tiny file to my friend, who loads it into qbittorrent. their computer takes a moment to find mine over the vast expanse of cyberspace and then (as long as my pc is running and the file is still where it should be), it gets copied from my hard drive to theirs
this is the cool part: if somebody else loads that tiny file, they can download it from both of us. if i'm offline but my friend is on, the third person can still get it. this also means that if two people have separate halves of the file, they can download the other half from each other. as long as some combination of people have the pieces between them, they can all have the whole thing.
crucially this does not require a server!!! you can just upload the file to a few people and as long as they keep it, it's still accessible. as long as somebody, somewhere is still connected, it's available forever. the only way it goes away is if everybody disconnects from it.
please learn to torrent
People need to roast magic the gathering more. That thor's hammer worthy thing is hilarious.
Put it on Norin the Wary.
Put it on Stark of Rath.
Megatron
i'm sweet? (ignore the other one)
you grow up with only a surface understanding of computer history and as you learn more it seems advancements recede earlier and earlier in time. they made the first 3d game in 1991. they made the first 3d game in 1985. they made the first 3d game in 1967. they found a Banjo Kazooie prototype inscribed on oxidized bronze gears retrieved from a mycenaean shipwreck
i always love the way that mtg strategists and high level players discuss red decks in articles. this quote has been going around the local mtg server:
and the thing is that i really love hot dog decks. this guy is so fucking right
weird ps1 game i found
You have to keep watching

incredibly cool pose, I thought.
Is Archeops gping to land on her arm like a hawk? If so, how heavy is it. Can't be too-

As a reminder if you're wondering why Gundam has so many weird names for people and things, this is why.
At that point I think I too would name a character Quattro Bajeena
some hyper famous artists like Van Gogh transcend overratedness and become underrated because they're so normalized. Like I'll look at a van Gogh and I'm like wait this really is amazing you guys don't get it
Shakespeare is like this
Every time I see a Van Gogh that’s not one of his better known pieces it absolutely blows me away
Have you seen this shit my liege? smh unreal

Companies that rushed to replace human labor with AI are now shelling out to have IRL workers to fix the technology's screwups.
Delicious. We love to see it.
@ralfmaximus
Ultimately, she spent 20 hours redoing the copy from scratch — and with her $100-per-hour rate, that meant her client was shelling out $2,000 for copy that likely would have ended up being far cheaper had a human just written it in the first place.
I love stories like this.
