face makeup is evil. i don’t care. like eyeshadow can be a fun and creative thing and it’s not like anybody is going to think you genuinely have purple eyelids but face makeup that’s made to look “natural” just ends up making you think your normal skin is something to be covered up and distorts your perception of your face. the whole “it makes ppl more confident!” thing is a lie because it’s not that the makeup itself is making you feel confident it’s that it creates an association with confidence and the results of that is you end up hating your face which is the opposite of building your self-confidence.

i keep getting (and blocking lol) comments like “let people do what they want with their appearance!!!” on this post when like that’s literally my point makeup should be a thing you wear because you feel like you want to be creative and fuck it why not have black eyelids and purple lips today. foundation and contouring and colour correcting that look “natural” are the opposite of that! you’re not doing it because you want to you’re doing it because you feel like your face is lacking without it after wearing it for so long and makeup companies prey on that. it’s a good business model because a foundation bottle is something you’re gonna have to replace once a year if you wear it every day but eyeshadow and lipstick will last you several years even with daily use like i’m a goth i wear heavy black eyeshadow on my eyelids every time i do my makeup and i haven’t had to replace it in years. “but foundation helps people go out in public because they have low self-confidence!” is a myth, and just because it’s a coping mechanism doesn’t mean it’s a good one like it will in the long run make you think your naked face is lacking which is fucked up because it’s your FACE. there’s nothing wrong with it and the industry that is selling you the foundation that “empowers” you is actively working to make sure you need to be empowered

The Roathe conversations about Margulis and Ballas bother me so much precisely because I can see what they're trying to do.

Roathe is projecting. Roathe is very obviously projecting. Roathe lived being in the Margulis position in this story. He romanticizes the idea of Ballas loving her for many reasons. He's trying to validate that cultural arrangement (Executor + their toy) to himself, he's trying to tell himself that perhaps Nitokh could have loved him. Roathe is a person who was in a situation of domestic/power abuse who is trying to convince himself that it was more than that. When he goes on about the moral binary of us being unable to allow ourselves imagining an evil person capable of love, he is bullshitting you and distracting you from his very blatant personal investment in this hypothetical daydream of his.

Except you never actually see this observation through to its end. You are supposed to nod and go "You're so right, that was true love." You validate the shallow reading and the fandom has run full tilt with "wow it's so sad that Ballas loved Margulis so much he had to kill her," because that is the text present in the game.

While you can't write everything around the idea that your players aren't really reading what they see, it's not the players' fault for misunderstanding when the text itself is vague. The writing never commits to finishing the conversation and making it clear that Roathe is deluding himself. He is, in fact, being lauded by the fandom for being a straight talker who tells it like it is without sugar-coating; if the writing wanted to portray a man who is desperate and falling apart in his need to keep his worldview valid, it has firmly failed.

Multiple things are true at once. Roathe is a character who is a victim of domestic violence, but his narrative also validates and implicitly defends domestic violence by playing too coy. His narrative is hamstrung and limited by the need to perform for player power fantasy, the need to remain a romantically and sexually appealing product worthy of purchase, the KIM system, and the nature of a live service game; he attempts to shove far too many themes into a storytelling vehicle horribly suited to it and fails as a result. Both the character and the player are short-charged.

Listen I'm gonna be so honest for a second I need warframe fans to get a grip and call nitokh and roathe's relationship for what it is: abusive, and to a horrifying degree, I'm seeing to many of you ppl either boiling it down to simply being " toxic " or just not taking it seriously all together.

The more you talk to roathe the more obvious it becomes how this both deeply affected him and how it completely skewed his perception of what "love" actually is, (example: his views of ballas and margulis relationship.)

Not to mention his more in depth convos about nitokh in general reads like a textbook example of the internal conflict abuse victims have once their finally free of their abusers 😭 he HATED her but he also clung to her because of how utterly numb he became and how he felt "needed" by her in some way.

Male abuse survivors (esp ones that were abused by a woman in power) deserve to be taken seriously and not boiled down to a joke, you don't have to like roathe at all but you should at least have some tact and common sense surrounding some of the things he's been through.

Limbo's strain was "stabilized" but not stable. Loid in his desperation to find Albrecht accepted this risk swearing to fix the equations that ripped the original to shreds.

The transformation process was incredibly painful causing the original crack-like scars on his face. The cracks seem to get worse with strong emotions.

Skin chips off revealing rifts when injured, healing into scar like cracks.

His limbs also tend to detach, especially when exiting rifts. These can be easily reattached and can operate on their own.

the piglins do not care about their riches anymore. you can take as much as you see fit. they will not lay a single sword or arrow on you. for what reason are they so apathetic?

the fortresses that were once brimming with hostile life now sit dormant. they are nothing but empty bridges and hallways. there is not a single soul here to lay the smallest of scratch on you.

spawners do not spawn any mobs. there is nothing here. what happened for them to stop working? what made them work in the first place?

the end is barren. there is nothing here. the only living souls that remain are shulkers and the dragon. the endermen are long gone. the shulkers do not attack you. they dare not guard the cities they reside in any longer.

what happened? what caused the lingering apathy, what caused the extinction of so many beings? or is it before the world turned hostile? i suppose we won't know better than guessing..
