So I learned something this morning that is worth some discussion or at least some notice.

For the first time, in the history of companies manufacturing menstrual products, they used blood for the very first time to test absorption rates.

While this test isn’t perfect, as menstrual blood is a bit harder to collect than a packet of blood, it proved what everyone who’s ever had a period has known for a long time: Many menstrual products are not good at absorbing the blood, mucus, lining, clots, etc.

Prior to the testing, water or a saline mix was used, aka the blue solution we see in commercials.
