the first mistake people make when trying to figure out what homestuck is about is thinking that homestuck must be about something. homestuck isn’t “about” anything

actually it’s kind of more accurate to say that homestuck is about so many things that it stops being about anything. homestuck is a gay romcom it’s a psychological horror it’s a story for people with no sense of humor it’s a story for people with sophisticated and elevated senses of humor it’s about racism sexism fascism leftism it’s about love and hate and apathy it’s about war and peace and magic and music it’s a story for programming nerds it’s a story for fanfiction writers and most importantly homestuck is a creation myth for a world that doesn’t exist
