☆I plan on analysing and looking at Supa Strikas, making Headcannons, and genuinely just vibing here, and if I were on a team it would Nakama FC, I'll bring up different topics too but a lot less, I like shipping, so if you got a ship (especially if I like it too) it might pop up every once in a while on here.☆
☆Also would love for people to share their ideas, headcannons or whatever in the comments, I don't burn off toes, so nothing to be scared off.☆
☆If you have got tips for me for my analysis posts then comment☆
☆I got nothing else to say, so last thing. I love food, but honestly eggs suck☆
☆So I got a lot of ships from my last post (which were peak), and I do plan on making a fanfic that showcase all of them, with ships that I saw on my other social.
And Im going to plan on making two fics, one which is an actual story, were it isn't focused on the ships but they'll be part of the story, and for the other it's going to be just a bunch of one shots of ships, plus I'll post Headcannons of all of them on here too.☆
Some of the ones were:
☆Shakes x Riano
☆Twisting Tiger x North Shaw
☆ Twisting Tiger x Miko Chen
☆ Dooma x Dancing Rasta
☆Klaus x El Matador
These are the ones that will be written for the oneshot series on ao3.
For the story however I'll add new ships and remove some of the ships (through one sided relationships, or breakups) just so that the romantic side plot is messy (Probably will include the other new ships), and acts as a fun background for the main plot.
The new ships will be:
☆Shakes x Klaus (actually super healthy, but this fanfic is meant to messy sooooo...)
☆Shakes x Riano (Rivals with way too much tension)
☆Cool Joe x Twisting Tiger
☆ El Matador x Ninja (not because I think it's good or bad, but because it would be so messy, and would do well as the most dramatic ship)
☆North Shaw x Liquido (exes, or a situationship)
☆Skarra x Shakes (will be exes)
Their might be hints at other ships, but honestly for now this is it, the onshot will be like a series, and will be the first one I start, but the story will take more time. I'll probably explain what the story fanfic is about and the main plot in another post, but a hint: it's happening during the off season, and starting right after a certain team won the super League trophy.
The Headcannons will be kind of a daily thing, but chances are I might post them either in the community or outside of the community not both, because that's kinda a pain :^
☆I don't know all the ships for this show, so just comment down below your favourite ships, and what ships you would want to see more of, might right fanfics for them, all in one shots, or more.☆
Top Super League Agent, and sister of Miss Altivo, which is a well kept secret by Sonia, a somewhat traumatised character, who has worked in the Super League since she was 20, but lost an eye during a freak training accident, regardless however still became a top agent who holds a lot of resentment for the Super League Association for some of there unethical ways, yet refuses to leave her job for unknown reasons.
I couldn't decide on doing only chibi art, writing her first, or doing a profile, so I put it together and winged it. And the layout is different because I had to do it on my ipad and send it over to my main device, which sucks.
I plan on doing a Q&A for anyone who is curious, as well as make more chibi art of other characters since it's fun and I want to improve.
Twisting Tiger: Chased Shakes and North Shaw around the floating Stadium after they made another bet with Liquido. (Coach let him)
Cool Joe: Secretly took everyone's phones and changed their ring tone to the Supa Strikas theme song, and then called everyone during a press conference. (They all kept it that way)
Shakes: Was gaming till morning once, and when practice came he accidentally mistook all the blondes for eachother when passing. (The team had to do an intervention the day after)
El Matador : Was on live once after a party, and was talking shi about most teams in the super League while doing his hair. (It got him multiple sponsors and a new show, called "Shit talking with El Matador" it was cancelled after Ninja decided to sue)
Klaus: Has won multiple eating challenges before games, whether full blown competitions or challenges against Big Bo, and somehow always is fit for all the games.
North Shaw: Decided to combine multiple extreme sports, and dragged Eagle Eye and Blok along, they stopped talking to him for a week.
Blok: Made everyone listen Brislovian Dubstep once, he put it on full volume, the entire team (apart from Klaus because of Techno and Electronic Raves he goes too) couldn't hear for weeks.
Eagle Eye: Talks shi about Buddy Watkins, in his face, never behind him, and once said "You are the Kid Rock of the Super League", it was a meme for weeks.
Big Bo: Asked the team to baby sit his kids, found the team having a bed time story read to them by his kids when he got back, Rasta was making food for Big Bo and his wife.
Dancing Rasta: Decided to start a cooking show with the team, the team (not him) almost burned down his house, but his show was super successful.
MAN, I really wish we had access to the older comics, so we could see what Supa Strikas was like before they started to put more emphasis on the animated series…
So anyways, here’s a drive of some old comics I scanned a while ago and compiled into their own PDFs on my Supa Strikas focused Google Drive.
Link to the drive here!
In collaboration with @strike-em-down, we have an archive of a bunch of old comics that haven’t been seen online before! There have been some panels here and there, but I can say with full confidence that for many of the panels we’ve seen, the archive will have the comics that came from them. As well, these comics from the folder are going onto the Supa Stars website! Please check it out!
There are 38 comics in the drive, with 4 comics that have been seen before. One of them being Own Ghoul (#119), and the other three being Building Spirit (#89), Just Desserts (#97), and Trapped! (#98). The last three mentioned were scanned and translated by @nenemii, but I will say that the version that Nemi has scanned is very different from the comics I scanned, seeing as some panels are missing from Nemi’s version.
(Nenemii's scan on the left, mine on the right)
I do believe Nenemii’s version is different because it was released in the Philippine Star, which is a newspaper, so it had to be condensed in a certain way to fit in the newspaper.
Speaking of condensing, you will see that most of the PDFs have the word “compressed” in the title, and that’s just because when I originally made a PDF for each of those comics, the data was so high that it didn’t preview the cover page properly in the drive. So I apologize if the quality isn’t up to par, as well for some of the pages looking off. When I was scanning the comics, some of them were kind of fragile to handle, and no matter how many times I tried to straighten the page before scanning it, it still always came out a bit crooked.
Also, a lot of the comics will have the same ads that repeat in certain places. While I had thought about not scanning every page with an ad, I do believe in the preservation and archiving of old media. I also believe this gives the reader an idea of what messages were important to Strika Entertainment back then, with ads such as road safety and getting tested for HIV, I’m sure these comics were mostly aimed for kids, but they definitely also targeted the adults in the family too (especially with the amount of Spurs restaurant ads in every comic). There are some comics that have a double spread that isn’t an ad or a contest, but I felt I couldn’t skip those either.
Either way, this is something I didn’t think I would be able to do, let alone think this could ever happen in my life time. Ever since I became a fan of this series, I dreamed of reading these older comics, but also to re-read some of them. Back before the website was changed to fit with Moonbug’s branding, there was a time when the website would put up the comics for everyone to read.
And I loved them all! I honest to god wished some of those comics became episodes, like one of my favourite comics Rooftop Shake Up! (#95). I do believe this is the comic that got me interested in looking more into the series, while the Communication Blok episode from Season 1 is what made me a fan.
I want to thank Strikes for being the one to encourage me to join them on this endeavour, because while I didn’t have hope at the time, they had that optimism and hope that I couldn’t turn away from. And I also want to thank Shirls ( @yanxioustrikas ) for going over the comics with me and them, to make sure nothing was out of place, upside down or duplicated in the PDFs.
And I want to thank all of you guys for taking the time to read this post, along with Strike’s post. I’m very excited to share these with all of you, as I know many of you have been wanting to see what the older comics looked like. This is the proof of their existence, and I hope you all have a wonderful time reading them all.
Also, small PS...
I made another drive folder that is basically a Master List of all the comics that we, as a community and fandom, have found. This has the comics that I have scanned, and the comics from another Google Drive, including those from the website before it got taken over by Moonbug.
I was the one who actually found those comics from the website, back when it had the yellow background and everything. I had them in their own folders with their separate pages, but I have compiled them into PDFs for easier reading. The one thing I do not have in there are the comics that were translated from Hebrew, from the Supa-Stars website. I still need to get the files, but I will be adding them into the Master List folder in due time.
Here's the link to it! Share it with others if you'd like, along with the other other link too. I feel like this kind of day has a been a long time again and once again, I am ecstatic to share this with all of you.
So I watched Game Over and personally unlike the Crunch (which I loved), it was okay, Shakes's burn out is so real, and that's what I want to focus on.
The burn out Shakes's felt, wanting to quit, was expected and bound to happen, the amount of times he almost died, the stress and pressure from the media and even other people's expectations of him, and a lot of the time burn out doesn't need a clear reason to be something that someone is going through and or feel. Shakes's also did something that I recognised after this re watch that I ignored at first but honestly I shouldn't have, he intertwined his entire life with football, being a Striker in the Super League is already a lot so players tend to cope by having or doing something outside of that, even if it's something small or large, El Matador and North Shaw are perfect examples of this, North Shaw does extreme sports as well as exploring other sports outside of football, especially surfing, and El Matador has his own toy line, and multiple (successesful) business ventures outside of his football, as well as his house being private property and not seeming to have a football pitch, but a large amount of empty space, and although the separation isn't complete, the fact that there is a distance makes the chances of burn out less likely because they have something to go back and forth with, It doesn't have to be big either, Klaus and Rasta have theirown thing too, Cool Joe and his club and music, Big Bo is literally married, everyone has got their own things going on.
Shakes's however doesn't have the tiniest bit of separation, gaming is great but in an earlier episode it was shown that he plays football games, and apart from communities that he helps out, and his own, that has a whole football court, not a large one, but it's still a big reminder, and then his two friends are both massive football fans, which he has gotten them to do espionage for games to see if there is foul play, and if it's not any of that he seems almost incredibly bored.
And Shakes's teammates and the entirety of Strikaland are constant reminders of football, for obvious reasons, even if they stopped talking about football, and they just hung out, it would still be a reminder. The entire episode felt like a way to show Shakes's that "Hey you love the game, but you are also deeply obsessed with it, and if you don't stop there will be consequences"
It's also what I meant in an earlier post when Shakes is really obsessed with the game the same way Skarra is with him, it can be detrimental to the person.
There are more points and things that did make me only be okay with the episode rather then love it, but I definitely don't hate it.
Also I'm only really talking about the show, never really the comics just because the content seems slightly different as the show adapted and left out things.
I also forgot to introduce myself so I don't know if anyone wants that and I'm making an OC...so yea.
I'll do more on this episode, because it was kinda crazy.

So this has been a BIIIIIGG project my friend @mariaddity & I have been working on for the last few weeks! After I found an archived page for what the old Supa Strika website looked like:
I got super excited and asked mariaddity if they wanted to make a fan website that not only paid homage to it, but also acted as a News website that's set in the Strika universe!
All of this really couldn't have been possible without the help of my friend, and I cannot thank them enough for laying everything out, teaching me so much about coding, and for being so patient and awesome.
We'll be updating this site with articles, rumors, player interviews, and game results whenever we can! This website will feature a mix of canon characters and a handful of OCs, such as Maci, Val & Ares [those two belonging to mariaddity]
Also a big thank you to @abyss-strikas and @strikasupp as well for looking at everything on the site and checking to make sure everything looks all good!
Shakes is obsessed with football the same way Skarra is obsessed with him, to the point it's extremely off putting and a little weird.
Supa Strikas although I did say the almost opposite in one post, are actually pretty hated as a team by the Super League Association and there are so many examples for almost everyone in the team.
The Teams and or coaches who never cheated, or were never shady were rude or as*holes in personality and that isn't even me considering to Supa Strikas specifically but in general.
The Super League's main reason for being corrupt isn't because it ignores the cheating but because it let's teams actively destroy eachother in every way possible because it makes the games more intense, regardless of whether the crowd knows it or not, just for views and cash they'll make by actual fair matches .
The fact that Coach believed Toni Vern, Skarra, and Uber, over Klaus when they could have done a DNA test to show it wasn't Klaus with the sock, since Toni had the tech there, shows how Coach really doesn't trust his team outside of his main super stars.
They (Boss of the Supa Strikas Club, Stakeholders) were willing to kick Rasta off for a money grab, to be basic as hell, and because he wasn't "new", they hate there team.
I don't really care about De Los Santos or his team, but they were done dirty by everyone, however the team wouldn't have survived on the Super League board regardless not because there are bad, but because Teams were mentally and physically willing to do horrible things to eachother and then some.
Shakes can be a super "in your business and not coming out of it" person (he's invasive towards a lot of people and teams).
A lot of Coaches in the Super League are just straight criminals, or people who got a tax break only if they stay on the board, or using the Teams as guinea pigs for experiments because they are in perfect shape.
Last one: The entirety of Grimm FC suffered the most when it came to sabotage, and most if not all of the Teams don't get that because there past wasn't literally haunting them in the shape of a strudel obsessed, pathetic, self deprecating, still living with his mother, Big Bo obsessed, loser, who ran into his injury that everyone new was just a bad accident, literally whining like a little child, and dragging that entire team down with him, until it was a whole new generation. I DON'T EVEN LIKE THE STORE BOUGHT HALLOWEEN TEAM!!
As much as SS is a kid show its so freaking surface level that its on my mind.
..
When it comes to Supa Strikas and its writing i feel as though we didn't gain much from the characters, and you can say
"Coral its a kid show about soccer"
And your entirely write, i understand why the probably watered it down because some kids aren't focusing on the lore just soccer, but i feel as though thats not an excuse.
Supa strikas comics which are now.. lost to the world, gave us so much in the few pages. Those couple of pages did its best to inform and even build us up on characters and how in irl some crap might work. From rivlaries, to new teams and to relationships the comics gave us.
Characters.
More so it gave us characters that we can believe aside from all the aliens and underwater soccer are real in a sense.
The show had the room to expand upon the comics. These 10 pages couldve been 20+ minutes of writing and growth of characters and even go on the path of growing the characters as children grew aswell.
But instead.
We got what we have now.
Look im guilty of enjoying the show.. for the men.. really not the soccer. But i cannot help being thrown of whenever seem to get the seem elements.
Oh no shakes is missing. For the *looks at watch* 400th time! WHAT MUST WE DO!
I dunno use a substitute?
Supa strikas is static.. as hell for me.
I don't feel like some of the characters even grow maybe.. klaus defintely klaus for me. But i don't feel like they grow or become humble in el matadors case.
How many times will de los santos have to lose for el matador to lose that stupid sense of pride and naricssim and learn if you werent such a peacock you'd actually do you job right.
I thought after "No El in Team" el matador would be more open and more developed in how he was as a character. But he didnt
In fact i believe El matador became more selfish and more disgusting as the series grew. He didnt become better he just became more self absorbed. Now when it comes to kid shows USUALLY you know you'd grow your characters and help your audience learn lessons but no! We get fart jokes, the same destructive tendencies and no proper.. end. I can say this because i wish we got some history like the comics gave.
When did north and quido rivalary?
When did ninja and el matador start theirs? Its seemed like we didn't even get a slow burn its just. OH THEY HATE EACH OTHER CAUSE RICHNESS
And and? Sorry thats shits overwhelming. We seem to just jump unto different dynamics and never seem to call back unto the again. Like are we just gonna brush off between friends? Why doesnt giri target tiger in future? Where the hell is our ep for miko, tiger and inyo?
And this is where the excuse "its a kid show!" Falls off. I was a kid who grew off of A variety of shows. Avatar The Last Airbender, Gravity falls, My little pony, and so many more shows. These shows held weight and of characters. Sometimes a minor regress but it pushed forward.
This is why im happy supa strikas might not get a season 8. They lost the plot i mean i guess there really wasnt one. But they lost it.
Season 7 was fast paced, stumbling over and her and there and stupid lil things that didnt BUILD the show. Season 7 doesnt have the traction and motivation it seems to started out as.
We desserved development snd growth. Because ive played soccer and i know what soccer kinda entails. Team work and inter personal relationships, we deserved episodes with every team mates with a new new team mates and dynamics, i believe some beef between team mates aswell because i didnt have the best teammates and i doubt supa strikas were always have the best times together. I know we see them ocassionally get annoyed but thats it.
We dont see personal lives
We barley see family
And we don't see lovers or even get true true confirmed relationships.
Supa strikas just gave us bullshit. And its sad because they couldve had so much room, build other teams and have no supa strika centric episoded. An episode with meda and santos? Or an episode with Don Aldo and Edwin growing alongside each other. There was so much room for supa strikas to be open to new concepts imo.
It didnt just have to be shakes, shakes and shakes how he breaks.
It couldve been SUPA STRIKAS building dynamics on the team and even other teams aswell. Now here we are as a small fandom having to grow this content with some of the worst lore ever in show, shitty ship dynamics (please PEOPLE STOP SHIPPING SHADOR) and WHITEWASHING. We seem to keep getting more middle fingers now theyre using AI. Theyre aware people still watch the show but refuse to even give us updates. Its annoying and it sad.
Don't get me started on the other teams, every team is just a "villain" andddd they barely use the non cheats one (barka, collosus, azul,sa ming,Orion, palma). The one that got justice is hydra but ofc that ugly blue haired man got the spotlight 24/7 bcs of his rivalry with North. Im starting to think that the reason why palma got so little time screen is because everytime they appeared SS will need to go to the jungle js to beat the triangle haired man. I'm crine but I would love a season 8 too but idk why moonbug won't give any updates and clear answer like what r we gatekeeping genuinely 🥹🥹
El Matador is honestly an exhausting character, I love how funny he makes scenes, moments and episodes as a whole, but he really didn't change that much, his rivalry with Ninja and their episodes were definitely only used to remind us that El Matador loves his team, because I forgot a good few times, although Im not suprised about their rivalry.
I do disagree about Klaus kinda, not because his development was bad or anything, just because Klaus almost always in his episode had the same variation of struggling with his worth or not having his worth recognised, od someone noticing and then that's the plot, the team trying to figure out what is so obviously wrong, and I love the episodes, mainly because I love mystery and detective episodes, but the fact it happens always in his episodes, ugh. Like write something else for Klaus focus more on solving mysteries and his team, not just Shakes, helping him, imagine an episode of Supa Strikas helping another team figure out a scandal before the the other team gets hurt, like Nakama playing for the Super League trophy, so we get an episode focused on them. But Klaus was kinda in the same boat as El Matador when it comes to not changing.
I agree that the show lacked certain things, but I don't fully blame it because animations that have an original source material do that A LOT, And honestly I wished we got more from the substitutes, and everyone's lives outside of the Super League, but I'm not suprised they avoided that for a lot characters and teams, because the more attached we were to the men in red, the easier it was to be curious about other teams and how they function, making it easy to watch literally 7 seasons of them.
Lowkey didn't mind the fart, stinky socks, or any of the other jokes, just because it separated a lot of tension that is very easily created in the episodes and seasons, I mean Supa Strikas are really close to dying very often, or losing a teammate, or something else happening to them. Im pretty Liquido (I hate his hair) almost killed North Shaw, when North was surfing.
I lowkey now mourn what Supa Strika could have been as a show, when I first found out about the comics, and it was bs that so much was done wrong, but I love indulging in that forsaken show, it's such an easy watch. But you are absolutely right.
Whitewashing. No before you leave! I know we've seen me get on this case constantly but i just wanna bring it up again as its overly annoying at this point.
Supa strikss is south africa. Ooooo woaaah... this means theres a diverse group of people and when you expand the league is a diverse section aswell, theres someone for everyone and a way to you find yourself in someone someway.
But its been alot lately seeing constant white washing of characters like Dooma, rasta and often shakes and skarra be whitewashed. Why? Theres literally no reason to do so and its awkward seeing characyers my skin color get whitewash and when you speak to artist theyre like "oh im just a few shades off"
Mind you a character can be a color of dark chocolate and they'd make them white as a sheep's wool isn't an excuse. Its not and i hate how somehow its normalized? Especially when it comes to the gacha section in fandom (i knoe gacha is s bit limited but thsts NOT an excuse to make a carribean character skin color that of ash. Even my Oc Emerald has been an absolute victim of whitewashing
Please call artist on their actions.
