Being 18-25 is like playing a video game where you skipped the tutorial and now you’re just running around with no idea how anything works.
An accurate description of my life. Still have a year left running around desperately apparently.

It’s raining here. I love the rain, particularly in the morning. The magic of the fresh air is soothing. I am reminded of a quote my friend wrote in a letter on days like these. I needed to be reminded of it, but here it is for you, if it helps your soul. I’m not sure where it is from, though.
May the Sun bring you new energy by day,
May the Moon softly restore you by night,
May the rain wash away your worry,
May the breeze blow new strength into your being,
May you walk gently through the world,
and know Beauty all your life.
I am homesick for a place I am not sure even exists. One where my heart is full. My body loved. And my soul understood.

We travel because we need to, because distance and difference are the secret tonic of creativity. When we get home, home is still the same. But something in our mind has been changed, and that changes everything.

When you're at work and all you want to talk about is how worried you are about the Brexit .
Sometimes I really fucking hate my generation. I grew up in a house where, if you said you're gonna do something, you do it. You say you'll be there at a certain time, you're there. For people with social anxiety, your words are important. Your actions are important. Fucking commit because we expect that. We remember that time you said you'd be there and you didn't show. We remember the awkwardness we felt while waiting for you. We remember the disappointment you caused when you "had to bail." I don't plan shit after having my closest friends bail on birthday dinners - plural. Why do you consider them your friends, you ask? Because I have social anxiety and making new ones can be excruciating. Every bit of awkwardness and silence I blame on myself. It's my fault, I think, I'm terrible at small talk. I look at extroverts and wonder what the fuck happened to me. Where did my social grace go. And, I hate having to add a time buffer for events because you have to expect people to be "fashionably late." What the fuck does that mean anyway?
