nothing is more tumblr than having a tumblr sexyman wiki and then warn you to not find some of those men sexy because it's problematic

Fallstreak hole! These "holes" in the clouds are uncommon but not truly rare; you should spot one sooner or later if you keep a lookout for them.
Perhaps more interesting is the fact that this image could only occur within the Torrid Zone between the Tropics of Capricorn and Cancer, as the Sun is never directly overhead elsewhere, and it can never occur more than twice per year. The Tropics themselves will have this occur once annually at their respective Summer Solstice. Everywhere else in the Torrid Zone will have this happen twice a year, with each occurrence moving away from the Summer Solstice symmetrically, with the Equator experiencing it during both Equinoxes (i.e. 6 months apart).
Also, the disc of the Ocean being exposed to the Sun should be fully illuminated, not just illuminated at the periphery in a ring. Even if this were Special Enlightenment Light, that would still hold true. Unless... 🤔🤔🤔
Lastly, the level of darkness elsewhere in the painting isn't compatible with a fallstreak hole, as it implies either a time of day close to twilight (and the Sun is only overhead at solar noon) or else a very thick layer of clouds to make conditions below the cloud deck so dark, and fallstreak holes don't typically form through thick cloud layers. The apparent thinning of the clouds immediately around the hole is also quizzical, and seems to imply that, on the other side of the clouds, a very thick cloud deck thins out on a slope before reaching the hole, which is also not how fallstreak holes work. So perhaps there is something Enlightening and/or Nefarious going on here, and the painting title does say "Enlightenment," so we should probably trust that the source of this phenomenon has Strictly Good Intentions.
Edit: I went looking and Wikipedia actually has a useful graphic for this:
I think it would be really wonderful if seagulls were constructed more like bottles with a mystery inside. What I'm imagining is that were you to catch one, you could then unscrew its face and there would be a glowing gem nestled in some sort of socket. The Core of the Gull so to speak. Then you could swap that around with other seagulls, and after screwing the faces back on they would fly off as if nothing happened. Hm... Is this too esoteric, or do some of you see what I am getting at?

I think the technology presently exists to make "this person's¹" dream a reality. Assiduous and systematic use of testing for HSV would be sufficient, combined with secondary checks to deal with the false negative rate on said tests.
¹A great wind has overturned all—you shall need to hunt for my successor. It is my belief that such a task is simple. One simply needs to find a respectful, diligent, slatternly person with an oral fixation.
Linus has always been very clear that what he values is technical merit, "how good is the Linux kernel", and for better or worse he doesn't give a fuck about social or philosophical issues around the technology. He rejected GPLv3 for Linux because all he cares about is the "share-back" nature of the GPLv2 improving Linux on a technical level; he doesn't care about Tivoization or any of the other social or legal priorities of the FSF.
This stance irks people who want software to be a philosophical or social battleground, and I won't offer a strong opinion on whether Linus is right or wrong, but it has firmly been his position for decades and he wasn't about to change it now.
so of the 100, which double dactyl is your favorite?
This one probably? It's metrically a little flawed—relies on you to de-emphasize some words that naturally probably want stressing—but it can be read in the meter, and I think I did a good job
