It terrify’s me that the slightest expression of anger, whether expressed towards me or not, creates a tidal wave of anxiety in me. Today sitting the library, a guy near me had some form of computer trouble and hit the desk. I then had to spend five minutes doing breathing exercises to slow my rapid heart beat. Whether it was his use of his fist to express his emotion that sparked this response, I’m not sure.

I feel like a stranger in my own body

How do I put it into words? 

The life I lived recently.

The flash backs I wish would never come.

I feel like a stranger in my own body.

And sometimes I need to remind myself it’s true,

That it was my reality.

Sometimes I need to let it out,

So I thought I’d write about it to the obis of the faceless. 

I’m not enjoying owning this truth.

The truth he gave me the moment he hit me,

And called me a cunt. 

Fucking stupid.

Controlling.

Bitch.

I don’t know what’s worse,

That he could call me those things

Or that I still loved him. 

He blamed me for his want to jump off a bridge. 

It’s a troubled reality I struggle to understand. 

But I got out alive, 

I just have to learn how to live again.

Let alone love.

Exacerbated by alcohol.
