“Do you wish to die a second time?”
❝Well... A-Anyways! It’s not like I would know how to entertain you either way.❞
❝Of course you don’t!❞
Henry points out a finger at him, accusingly, with lips in a purse.
❝You were too busy ignore me!❞
He draws back from the boy’s face as soon as he arches his neck towards him. Finally! He’s got his attention! Having a one sided conversation with a living being who had the capacity to reply was no fun!– And he’s saying that because he’s had many conversations with dead Risen and passed foes before and those were more eventful than you’d expect. He lets out short puff of his breath– shifting into a position where his legs were crossed under him rather than pressed to his chest. Now that the rabbits were gone, he was free to be move without caution– and free to talk without prudence. With his attention secured, he can at long last get his message across.can finally get his words across to him.
❝I was trying to tell you something! Those rabbits earlier–❞
His eyes trail back to where the two rabbits had ran off too before letting his hand cup the side of his mouth – just in case they were to ever hear of his tittle-tattle. Rabbits had keen senses, after all, the smallest of noises could be heard from even miles away!
❝They’re a rowdy pair! And I’m not saying that cause they’re rabbits and they’re always jumpy! You see my other friends, the ones I was telling you about–❞
He pauses and gives the younger a pressing smile.
❝Well, you wouldn’t know cause you weren’t listening, huh? You know, that was quite rude and I merit an apology! ❞
The substantial surprise within the boy would finally come to a rest after a brief moment when he was allowed to recollect himself, his heart had finally stopped thudding so heavily against his chest, but there was one thing that hadn’t quite subsided and that would be the obvious annoyance towards the man, both visible and verbal displeasure. Now that he had managed to grab Takashi’s full attention, the other spoke so casually even in despite of the boy’s frustration, and when he would bring up the animals into their ‘conversation’, there was only embarrassment that would follow. ❝W-Why would I care about that?❞ Violet hues darting to the side as if he wasn’t just playing around with the two small rabbits, but he had his pride to maintain.
❝--And more importantly, why should I apologize to you!?❞ His voice resounds after a lengthy pause, arrogance residing well within his snappy retort, emphasis on just who he was talking to. ❝You’re the one who decided to sneak up on me! If you try that again, I’ll... kill---❞ There was hostility, but he managed to stop himself just in time before he lashed out, or made any unwarranted threats despite whatever urge was present.
“Oh no, more so a suggestion. As in, entertain me or burn. Want me to spell it out for you?”
❝Oh no, I’m so scared! Pfftbahaha--you’re hilarious!❞
“Do you want to experience what it’s like to be burnt by electricity?”
❝What? Are you really threatening me because you can’t get your way?❞ --he talks as if he wouldn’t do the same.
❝That’s what I said, yes. Do you need me to spell it out for you?❞
“Entertain me.”
❝...No.❞
Henry makes a sound that could arguably be a huff. How unpleasant. All this time he had presumed the boy to be just shy with his words, when in actuality the latter had paid no heed to even a word he had said! Such disregard brought Henry to ponder whether or not the interaction would be even worthwhile as he only plotted himself beside the boy to keep him company – though in disclosure, it seems like the act was unnecessary. Being a victim of neglect was no satisfying feeling and while he knew from experience when to stop badgering, he was more inclined to pester the boy for his attention out of spite.
❝I saaaaaid—— ❞
He peers his head closer to the boy’s ear. Was he invading the latter’s personal space? Possibly, but he never really cared for trivial matters.
❝I have a lot of animal friends, y’know? Four legged, three legged, two legged, you name it!❞
Figuratively, his heart would come to a screeching halt--a voice, without warning--though even if there was one, he definitely wasn’t paying any attention prior. A cold shiver was sent down his spine as he pulled back, startled--and also scaring the rabbits away with his rapid jerk for movement, violet hues watched in saddening disappointment as they scurried off, back to god knows where they were headed. A fragile heart practically thumping out of his chest, as despite a mask of superiority and callousness, Takashi was quite timid when it would spiral down to it.
A lone hand clutched over his chest, Takashi wanted to do nothing more than yell at the other, but his words failed to surface when he would actually need them. Instead, he took a deep breath--a brief moment to recollect himself before lilac irides trail upwards towards the other, brows furrowed slightly, an expression of childlike annoyance displayed across, also childlike, youthful features.
❝--I don’t even know what you’re talking about...!❞
@oddcrow
Animals--they were a simple treasure. There weren’t very many in the kingdom, and in the castle, pets were considered superfluous--not needed, and disallowed under the strict rulings, but even as a child, Takashi recalled sneaking out to visit the stables in his spare time, feeding the horses and playing around with the very few stray cats with a smile, so if there was ever anything that he ‘cherished’, it would be animals, even despite never having the opportunity to keep one for himself. He often found it strange how such a small creature that lacked human sentience could make him so happy--he didn’t understand it.
The boy sat alone in the garden, save for the two snow white rabbits that occupied his attention, hands gently running through the soft fur on their backs, a smile, one of tranquility and happiness resting across youthful features, soft murmurings directed towards the creatures, but as he was distracted, he wasn’t even paying any mind to the man that had approached him moments ago, and if he realized it sooner, there would surely be embarrassment to follow.
@heylindragxn
This was unspeakable--humiliating, mortifying. A ‘strong’ warrior, skills honed and refined, a prince--yet here he stood, getting trumped over by such worthless creatures. Through expedition would he find himself here, in the depths of the Venari Forest--unknowing of whether such creatures would prove hostile, he would provoke one through his own methods, but in turn, that would be the very mistake that led him to his current circumstances. Beasts that towered over the boy in size, skin that was much thicker than flesh proved far more difficult to cut through with his blade--the same one that was clasped tightly between trembling, sweaty hands.
Heavy breaths stress his exhaustion, he was unstable--not only physically, but mentally in the same sense. His body, battered and bruised, bleeding from the knees and numerous other wounds that would take quite a while to heal, but above all, his mind was the most damaged--the pain was bearable, but the very thought of it was not. He was only a child, after all--he wanted to cry, to scream in defeat--but it was the hyperarousal, the fight-or-flight state of mind that kept him going. Just as he had finally struck down the creature, although only one of many, he heard footsteps in the near distance, sending shivers down his spine as the leaves parted underneath the weight--but, much more lighter than those of a beast.
❝Who... who’s there...!?❞
@hunterofgrimgar
Initially, there was anger, a crushing feeling of defeat that weighted so heavily over his already fragile shoulders-- it was unbearable, the thought of death--but not unreasonable. Takashi--he happened to be a lot of things, but he was never weak--or so he would firmly believe. However, this time around, he was unsure of how to cope with his misgivings--if he could cope at all. Even in the end, he was exactly what he always was--a spoiled child. He could have chose to feign ignorance, believe in a simple, but more favorable delusion--but in the end, there was only one truth, one reality. It was fine--right? He would adjust--even if now, it seemed unlikely given the fear and defeat that whelmed deep within his fragile heart, but he would... this time around, he didn’t have much of a choice.
A curt sigh escapes from the youth, brief laughter, but of course, shrouded with his denial. He paced himself through the outskirts of the core, practically lugging around his own weight as he did, violet hues trailing elsewhere, but his attention was immediately collected by a nearby voice--a real voice, or perhaps his imagination given his uneasy state of mind, though nevertheless, Takashi spun around on his heels, facing the one who happened to be closest--a girl, appearing to be similar to himself in age.
❝Why are you talking to me?❞ He snapped, albeit unintentionally at first, coarse words trail from the boy, his voice resounding with a tone of superiority among arrogance--the expression over his youthful features expressing discontent, annoyance, but this wasn’t entirely the case--or well, perhaps it was... he just wasn’t able to stop himself from lashing out in time.
Starter call! I’ll cap at three for now!
