[ okay, well i've been out of commission for a while without any real notice. but i just got back from otakon and i'll be getting back into the rp game pretty soon!!

Mirror Match || Dark Pit
And like that, he popped out of his apartment for a breath of fresh air only to retreat back into the darkness. It appeared that Pit’s sources were right on the money, not too shabby for random rumors that he happened to hear by chance. His tensed body loosened, he truly was a ninja, unseen under the cover of the leaves.
Perhaps it would be a good idea to give the dark angel a visit? Sure they had their differences in the past but that was all behind them after the entire Hades plot had subsided, buried hatchets. While they wouldn’t exactly call each other friends, they were technically brothers, two people who never really saw eye-to-eye but were close at heart. Not to mention Dark Pit had come a long way since his violent days of wanting to destroy every––SHING!
"Gaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa…!"
Something had struck against his arm guard, sniping him off of the tree without any effort and sending him on a downward spiral to the ground. While the branches that he was snapping off with his body did slow his fall they didn’t do much to make the ride down any more comfortable. Luckily, he didn’t end up as a splat on the ground, instead landing himself headfirst into a trashcan.

Looks like his original didn't get any better at evading. While the white-clad angel was taking a big fall, Dark Pit began his trek over to greet him. He briefly wondered if he should feel bad for managing to land such a cheap shot but quickly decided otherwise.
While he wasn't ecstatic to meet up with someone else from his home world, Pit arriving at his doorstep was fairly convenient. This way, he didn't have to bother searching by himself to satisfy Palutena's request. With the goal of dragging Pit back to his goddess, the angel finally approached his counterpart. He couldn't help but laugh at the other's pathetic trashcan predicament.
"Not to bother you while you're getting comfortable but..." He snarked before not-too-softly kicking the trashcan over on its side. "You're really stinking up the neighborhood." Although he was being openly rude, the action wasn't purely out of spite. Dark Pit now could reach down to grab the bottom end of the trashcan to help Pit crawl out.
"So, you gonna tell me why you're sneaking around?"

"Dark Pit then," Nico says, even though it sounds super weird. Of course he knows it’s possible to be in a friend group where two people have the same name, but usually they just come up with a nickname for one like Will and William. He’s never heard of putting the word Dark in front of the name.
At the mention of ‘it’s complicated’ Nico feels a ghost of a smile pulling at his mouth. Trying to describe his life would be summed up best that way as well.
Dark Pit offers some food, but since his time in Tartarus his appetite has been at an all time low. Still, he’s trying to be polite and whatnot so he says, “I suppose I could eat a little.”
He crosses his arms uncomfortably. ”What are you making?” he asks in his continued effort to not seem rude. He can’t just walk away and expect to be fed, like a snooty rich man waiting for his butler to serve his every need, after all.
At the other's question, Dark Pit paused for a moment. While he could probably be fairly showy with his skills, the available ingredients left much to be desired. Sure, he caught some meat for the occasion but, that by itself would still end up a lackluster meal.
Poking around the kitchen area for spare things, he could only find a measly loaf of bread, which was still fresh from what he could tell. Well, it wasn't a five star Skyworld buffet, but food's food.
"Looks like I can't make anything fancy..." He shrugged in response without turning around.
"Do you care if it's just a sandwich?" He's going to make it regardless of Nico's answer, but as long as they were both pretending to be considerate...
Mirror Match || Dark Pit
Rumors spread like wildfire here in Pyli, lack of quick forms of communication be darned. It was likely that the lack of television or video was what made gossip, simply put, the talk of the town, especially now that all of these folks from completely different worlds were coming out of thin air. Countless stories of great heroes and dastardly demons were easy to come by when one frequented taverns and the occasional salon.
That’s how he had heard about him.
Majestic black wings that stretched from arm to arm, dressed head to toe in dark robes adorned with a golden trim. A sharp mind assisted by an even sharper tongue, only used in times when interaction with others cannot be avoided, otherwise prone to using judgmental stare downs to settle conflicts. Those were what the tales told of the "Crow Boy" who lived here in the peaceful small town of Eori.
"Gee, I really wonder who that could be.”
The angel mused to himself as he scoped out the supposed home of his dark doppelganger from atop a nearby tree. Why go through the trouble of climbing a tree? Well, if it, by some ungodly form of luck, turned out not to be Dark Pit who lived in this apartment it would certainly be a bit embarrassing knocking on the fellow’s door. His intuition has let him down before, better to be safe than sorry. Plus it made him feel like a ninja.
Call it intuition or angel senses tingling, but for some reason, Dark Pit was expecting some of a omen to come barging through his door sometime soon. Not anything deadly or anything to actually worry about, but probably another thing on his list of what to avoid. The feeling made him dread the idea of going out today.
All the same, he wasn't going to let some irrational fear keep him cooped up. Stepping out of his apartment, the angel didn't even get three steps out the door before he felt someone's eyes on him. A cursory glance of his surroundings was enough for him to catch a sight of some obese dove sitting in a tree.
...Oh, scratch that.
"What are you doing..?" Dark Pit wondered to himself staring at his original, as if their super special twin connection would somehow send the message.
Wordlessly, he walked back into his apartment for a moment to grab his longbow and without any warning he accurately aimed an arrow at his lighter self. Hopefully, he'd just scare Pit out of the tree, but if he manages to land the hit well... Whoops.
{ Comin' On Way Too Strong } Closed
Every day in Eori had been an adventure, but it was just about time to go. He needed to get to Estaria before long so he could go talk to the mage guild! Truth be told, he’d already learned a lot from the mages here but gossip on the streets was there were some really neat things at the capitol. Like temples dedicated to gods of all kinds. And where there was lore, there was bound to be a little bit of fact behind it. Though, as he started out of the city something caught his eye. A nice pair of black, shiny wings that looked like oil in solid form. Holy shit, a real angel. It was probably the coolest thing Hanna had ever seen, you know, next to all the other really cool things he had ever seen. But angels very rarely showed up where people could find them. There was no way that he could pass up the opportunity to see those wings up close.
“Hey there!” he said, projecting a little bit louder than he probably meant to. But those wicked feathery appendages just had his heart racing. Maybe if he sweet talked this guy he’d let him even touch them! There were probably a lot of bones in there. Swiping right up beside the boy in question, he kept pace, eyes peeled as he looked him over. “Um. If you don’t mind my saying, that’s a really nice set of wings you’ve got there! What sort of things do you do, I mean, what’s it like to be angelically inclined?”
Exploring this world was a lot more troublesome when he was restricted to walking on his own two legs. It almost seemed like too much effort to even bother leaving Eori without the power of flight. It was almost enough to make him ask Palutena for some divine intervention, but he wouldn't stoop so low.
Reaching his arms up in a stretch as he walked, Dark Pit was surprised to hear a voice yell to him. Turning to gaze towards the sound only made him more confused. Surely, this guy wasn't calling out for him? Was this someone he was supposed to recognize? Though as soon as the unfamiliar man slid next to him, he could tell he was in for a treat.
The replica stared at the redhead distrustfully before responding with an insincere. "Thanks." The unsolicited compliment only drove him to draw his wings in protectively and pick up his pace slightly.
"...It's peachy," he answered, for lack of a better response. Honestly, he didn't really even understand how he was supposed to answer. Give a detailed account of how Skyworld functioned?
"So what's it like to be incredibly creepy?"

He didn’t sign up for this? Tell Nico about it. He’s been saying that his whole life.
He follows the others gaze around the room, and yeah, okay, this room was definitely made to house two people. It would be a lie to say he hadn’t been hoping to get the room to himself for a little while at least but then again he doesn’t often (read: ever) get the things he wants.
He supposes it could be worse. He could be roomed with a wild beast, or someone who doesn’t know the definition of personal space and the meaning of I’d really rather not talk about it, thank you.
"Dark Pit?" Nico questions. "Do I call you that or can I just call you Pit?" An earnest question, but one he feels might be stupid.
Still, he holds out his hand for the guy to shake as he says, “I’m Nico di Angelo. It’s nice to meet you.” Then, albeit a bit awkwardly he adds, “Make yourself comfortable.” They don’t need to be friends, but he’d like for them to be at least civil to each other if they’re going to live together.
A deep sigh escaped his lips when he heard that question. He never really had to deal with it before, considering he was surrounded by gods and goddesses who knew his nature to begin with. With a frown, he shook his head and crossed his arms.
"Don't call me Pit. That's some other guy," he asserted sternly. He opened his mouth to explain further before stopping himself. Telling other people he was a doppleganger of an incompetent angel was a less ideal introduction. Giving up on the origin story, the angel simply shrugged, "Know what? It's complicated."
After a moment, he reached out to shake Nico's hand. "...Same here." He responded in a quiet voice, still unused to the introduction game. Dark Pit looked around equally as awkward before continuing his way to cooking.
"So, uh, you hungry?" He motioned to the kitchen if it wasn't already obvious what he was up to.
"Call it, ‘convincing persuasion’ instead," she said with a smile. Despite his opposite demeanor, Palutena knew that little Pittoo was just as much a good guy as Pit was.
"Sometimes it can be relaxing just sitting and waiting though, so I’m fine with it," better than standing and waiting all the time. "Oh, hey, you’re right! Good thinking, Pittoo! You think you could find him then?"
Dark Pit sighed, "Whatever it is, it'd be annoying." Just imagining the thought was exhausting. And still, he wasn't kind enough to want to listen to Palutena's voice for an extended period of time.
"What makes you think I'm going to take orders from you?" He immediately rebuffed the idea. "Besides, it's not like I can fly. How am I supposed to--" He quickly froze when he realized he was getting an out from this conversation even if it means a wild angel chase.
"Actually... Fine. Why not," he shrugged, already turning around to walk away. "Don't be surprised if it takes me a while."
"Yeah, but that worked out in the end! You even got closer to everyone because of all of that~" After all, thanks to Dark Pit, Pit was able to be saved and all that.
"Right? It just goes to show you the extreme trust that a goddess and the captain of her guard has," she said, totally ignoring his sarcasm. "Well…someone has to take care of the bad things. And besides, it helps him prepare for things like when he gets lost!"
"Well if I didn't, you would just haunt me with your guilt trips," he said with a pout. He was well aware that he saved Pit, but he didn't need the reminder. It was basically a requirement anyway.
"Sitting and waiting around must take a huge toll on that trust of yours," he muttered, although he was sure it'd be ignored again. "More like some goddess... Well, whatever. If I'm not down, then Pit's still around. You don't need trust to tell you that."
Oh she’ll make you have fun, lots of it, just you wait.
Her expression turned worried for a moment.
"Oh you don’t think he is, do you? The last time I was gone he almost worried himself silly, didn’t he?" And remembering that this was the Captain of her guard she coughed and tried to play it cool…like a cucumber.
"I’m sure he’s fine, I believe in Pit! He’s gone through some pretty bad things but always comes out alright in the end."
"Maybe you've forgotten, but last time you disappeared on him, you went aggro on the human race and got your soul stolen by the Chaos Kin," he scowled, remembering the unfortunate details. Even he had to weigh in to help during that mess.
"...Your blind faith in each other is touching," he grumbled sarcastically. "But, you know, you're the one that always sends him to the bad things."
You should have asked anyway, it would have been a fun story to tell. Which is why you’re a party pooper.
She smiled at him, she was sure that deep down, he liked the song too. Probably very, very deep down though.
With a sigh she nodded at his words, “Yeah, we were supposed to meet up at the tournament actually, so I really hope that he’s not lost.” Palutena…you’re the one that’s lost here, remember?
Crasher... Well, whatever. He'll keep ruining Palutena's fun, no matter what.
His brow furrowed as she smiled at him. No doubt she was thinking something silly again.
"You're telling me you expected him to get there on his own? You won't even let him fly without holding his hand the whole way," he pointed out. "He's probably lost and lonely without you to babysit him."
"In fact, shouldn't you be a little more concerned about your own captain?"

When you’re a demigod there are things you get used to, like the gods screwing around with your life for example. You also get used to your powers and learn how to control them.
Shadow travelling had been one of the more tricky things Nico had to learn. The first time he used it to travel a large distance he’d passed out for a week, and another time he’d accidentally crashed into an antique shop in China. The owners hadn’t been too happy with him, and shouted in angry Mandarin until Nico was able to scramble to his feet and get the hell out of dodge. But he’d gotten the hang of it in the end, and that’s what’s important.
That being said, being in an unfamiliar place by fault of not the gods (for once) and his powers not what they were means Nico’s learning to use his powers again.
He’s about half a football fields length away from his apartment when he falls back into the habit of shadow travelling the rest of the way. Unfortunately because he doesn’t remember what exactly the layout of his apartment is he misses the front door entirely.
He steps out of the shadow, expecting it to be empty, expecting to be by the front door, and walking full force, head on into a unexpected person. the noise he lets out is somewhere between an uncomfortable grunt and an oof of surprise.
He recovers quickly and finds himself in the presence of another person. A person with wings at that. Nico’s seen satyrs, and merpeople, and harpies, and a boat load of all kinds of people who are straight out of a mythology textbook but not one quite like this.
"Would you please tell me who you are?" he asks, rather rudely, despite the word please. "And why you’re in my apartment?"
Dark Pit is left staring at the unfamiliar face in front of him. Although he appeared to be human, those powers clearly meant otherwise. With an obvious frown, he ignored the other's questions and started putting the pieces together. Another look around did prove this room have two beds, so whether they wanted it or not, this was the arrangement they were stuck with.
"Ugh, I didn't sign up for this," he whined before looking back towards the new roomie himself. He wasn't welcoming to be sure, but maybe that wasn't a bad thing. If they stayed out of each other's way, this might be tolerable. Now, back to the question at hand.
"It's Dark Pit and apparently I live here now," he finally responded, mirroring the same amount of rudeness he was greeted with. Maybe not the smartest idea after seeing some weird shadow powers and knowing full well that he basically had none, but... It's hard to hold back the sass.
"Now your turn. Please."
Well you know, you could take a left at the Death Star when you should be taking a right, or maybe go opposite direction of Ylisse when you should be heading towards it, or even entering Inter-dimensional Gate 3 when you should be entering 1. A lot of things could go wrong.
"Of course, you gotta be upbeat, upbeat, upbeat~" She sang. It was too bad Pit wasn’t around to finish the song.
"Oh, is that so? And if I wanted to be tailing you, I would have sent Pit after you in the first place." This goddess has more important things to do then go after someone herself, like sitting in her room looking at the reflection pool of the person she wanted to see.
And that was why he didn't bother with the question. But the angel openly rolled his eyes at Palutena's short tune... If it could even be called singing a tune.
"...Right." That was still as annoying as it was when he first heard it. All the same, it was still strange how she hadn't summoned his original over here yet.
"Yeah, I wonder why that hasn't happened. Maybe someone lost track of Pit?" He teased, "Must be inconvenient for you."
Thinking about it now, there really weren’t many opportunities for Palutena to be directly face-to-face with anyone else. It was a bit strange but she was fine with it. And either way, you’re not helping the party in the long-run.
"Oh…that’s what I thought. I wonder if I really did take a wrong turn somewhere…" Looking around, it really didn’t look like anything she particularly recognized.
"Well, I guess I’ll think of this as a rest-stop before we get our ‘fight’ on! Have you been here long then?"
How does someone take a wrong turn into a different dimension? While he was vaguely curious, he also didn't want to sit through some long-winded and probably made-up story.
"That your way of being cheerful about this?" He raised a brow. "Whatever helps you sleep at night."
"Just a day or so. If I didn't know any better, I'd think you were tailing me again."
Thankful that they were no longer practicing for a marathon, Palutena continued to slowly walk over to him until she was finally in front of him. She gave herself a few moments to catch her breath though. They really had run quite far, and he was a pretty good runner for someone whose battles were sky battles as opposed to land ones.
"Well, that’s because you’re a party pooper, but we can fix that."
"Anyway, where are we? This isn’t the way to the tournament, is it?"
Dark Pit had to resist the urge to take a step back when she approached him. He wasn't scared, but having Palutena right in front of him was still a jarring situation. And he was a party crasher, not a party pooper.
"'Tournament'? Look around already. Does it looks a brawl's going to break out any time soon?" He sighed, still surprised at her lack of common sense at times. Some all-seeing goddess.
"We're no where near Skyworld now."
Despite what one might think, Palutena was actually a pretty good runner so there was little chance of the rebellious not-teenager losing her.
"But that might take too long, and you’re already here in front of me!" She countered. Why wait for something that could be done now? Geez, it wasn’t as if she was asking to test her sickle-skills on him.
"Oh, you’re no fun! Fine, fine, I won’t use you as target practice but can we at least stop running?"
Dark Pit looked over his shoulder at the running goddess. Seems the both of them were getting tired of cat and mouse. Even if it was some trick to make him stay still, he would have to stop at some point anyway.
"Tch. Fine." He huffed, before slowing to a stop still a fair distance away. And to think, she had a whole army she could order around with these stupid requests.
"Sorry. I don't get your weird ideas of fun."
She had a feeling that she would find at least one of the angels here. Maybe this was the right way to the tournament after all? Well, that could be a question she asked later. For now..
"Hey wait-!" She called out, running after him. "I just want to see how good my aim is and Pit’s not here so you’re the next best choice! I promise I won’t aim at you, so stay still!" Well not directly at you, but if you were moving, there were no promises.
The angel scowled as she gave chase but continued to run a haphazard path to lose her. At least he wasn't dealing with another brainwashing, but her actual reasoning just ticked him off more.
"Then wait for your dumb puppet to appear!" He yelled back. Surely, if he was here, Pit had to be as well, which is all the more reason to not play along.
"Why should I just sit around for your target practice?"
"AH, found one!" As she points her javelin at the dark angel. Dark Pit run, run before she uses you as pseudo-target practice.
Oh, joy. There's a sight he didn't really want to see. He thought this place would at least be free from the Goddess of Light, but lo and behold. Dark Pit was afraid she'd come over for some unwarranted lecture, but instead she raised a weapon to him instead.
"What is she...?" He mumbled before swiftly breaking out into a dash. Oh, no, he was not dealing with a Chaos Kin 2.0 deal.
"Hey, what's your problem!? I haven't even done anything yet!"
